Points worked out from predicted results, Tony ! 17 more home points, 16 more away points = 33 + 22 = 55 !!

Another negative post... look at all those points you have us dropping :D

We are just 2 points worse off from last season at the same stage and we finished on 54 points. Had we beaten Brighton on the last day it would given us our highest points total in the Prem with 57.

A similar run this time would certainly get us close to 55 points.

I probably shouldn't repeat this but not only have Fulham not won in 11 games, they have not won in their last 32 visits to Turf Moor, since 21st April 1951, to be exact. Attlee was in Downing Street, Meat, Sweets and Butter were still rationed, and Elvis was still in High School ....

Chill ! 8-)

I'm as chilled as those Liverpool supporters who were basking in the knowledge that Burnley's last win at Anfield was 47 years ago. 8-)

And just to reinforce your point about Fulham, it could be mentioned that in those 11 matches (7 points) they have scored 6 goals.
Blimey! and people think we're shot-shy, in those same 11 matches we've scored 8 I think, however we've amassed 16 points in that same period. And that's the difference we don't score many, but the few we do score normally matter, and earn us vital points.

My concern is that, at times, the teams around us seem to play better football than we do, certainly create more chances and score more goals. Saturday will be a stern test for us even if we get some injured players back and may be a measure of the odds on our survival in the premier league.
Bournemouth, Watford and Norwich apparently played better football than us last year...

Another week passes and neither Brighton pull away nor Fulham close the gap even after they knew we both dropped points.

So another game passes and the 8 point gap remains, it's looking bleak for the bottom 3, plus for all you nervous nellies, both West Brom and Sheff Utd have a much worse GD than we have, so that's another point they need to make up.

To catch up, they need to win 4 while we're losing 4. After that, their goal difference won't be much worse.

A 3 win swing & a 3 win loss in the opposite directions would yield 9pts placing Fulham on 24pts a point above us, it’s futile worrying about West Brom & Sheffield United currently as Fulham are the closest & the immediate concern of course that could all change as the season progresses.

For perspective, to survive Sheff Utd and West Brom would have to display form and results equal to finishing in the Top 4 or 5.

Between them, Sheff Utd, West Brom and Fulham have won 1 more game than us - between them remember!

Not happening.

Agree with JohnMac. Let's try and keep things in perspective. One game at a time (sorry, boring I know but it works). We are averaging one point a game at the moment, so if we carry on that form we should be about there. Also remember we have four games to play against the bottom 3 teams. Brighton are a difficult team to beat at the moment and are on a good run at the moment. Ok we didn't get three points but a point is a point nearer to staying in the Prem for another season.
