All wrong tonight
Re: All wrong tonight
How can any of our happy clappers defend tonight, I'll make sure the door doesn't hit my arse on the way out.

And say Westwood or Tarks got a knock??Marney&Mee wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 9:23 pmHe should have started with Tarks and Westwood. Worst case bring those 2 and Barnes on at ht. woeful fare tonight
I'll bet you'd be one of the first to criticise playing a key player in a cup competition when we'd only get knocked out by a big side in the next round anyway, yet he misses 3 winnable games.
Re: All wrong tonight
And how many do we now have out?
Taylor / Cork / Brownhill / Brady / Wood, not to mention those horribly out of form.... Still very nervous, especially after last night confirming we have no squad depth.
Re: All wrong tonight
Well what if we pick up knocks in the city games you know the none winnable games, the ones we get hammered in, do we put in the kids and make 10 changes and leave just McNeil in like last night to save players from injurys so they can play in the winnable West Brom type games ???? Will the happy clappers be alright with Dyche doing that
Last night Dyche give Bournemouth a bye into the Quarter finals of the FA cup, the first time they have reached that round for 64 year's, just think about that and please stop trying to justify poor tactics poor hoofball football and taking the **** team selections

I don't care about the changes, It's the attitude that stinks. Every year, every cup competition, eventually there comes a round where the manager decides that enough is enough and the players are sent out to treat it like a training game.
That first half was appalling.
I'd rather watch the U-18s at 100% than a bunch of senior pro's strolling around not giving a toss.

Hey Sproggy, but we are Premier League Clarets. That’s all that matters......

Re: All wrong tonight
We can all agree Stephens hasn't ripped any trees up, but it isn't right to single him out for last night. I said before kick off, it was a strange pairing, him and Benson. Midfielders need to know each others game to be successful, that never looked like working. Bought 4 years too late, possibly, but he was always bought as a backup, not a starter, and he's had games where he has played better than last night.
The pairing of Jay and Vyds always looked an issue, both chasing the same balls. Two players playing one position!!!
Glennon looked lost defensively.
The whole team looked thrown together, but worst was they looked like they had no game plan.
'Right, you eleven are starting, here's the ball, go out and play'.
It would have been better to concede the match before kick-off than to suffer that.

I am certainly not Claret Tony’s biggest fan, however I think you are out of order with this comment.Right_winger wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 2:32 amDyche tells porky pies like this often. People like Claret Tony believe everything Dyche says is the gospel truth though.

About as many as Wood, JayRod and Barny do in most games. However, they usually have the benefit of a full strength team providing them with chances.

Re: All wrong tonight
It was OK to play Tarks in round 4 tho ? Too many youngsters and not enough leaders last night.
He throws Westwood, Lowton and Barnes on when we're chasing the game. Could easily have gone to extra time. So they could be injured then
I've never criticised Lord Dyche of Burnley, but last night I felt he got it wrong. Glorious opportunity for an FA Cup run to go down in history.
Lets be honest, and without tempting fate, we're pretty unlikely to go down. 3 wins from safety...and there's no way we'll let Fulham and WBA beat us at home. Plus plenty of winnable games besides those 2

Re: All wrong tonight
But what we have can cope. Earlier in the season Mee was out and that made a difference. Either way there was no excuse for last night. If it hadn't been for COVID restrictions thousands of fans would have been criminally ripped off last night. There is no excuse and can be no excuse for that selection last night. Perhaps if when the fans are allowed back we all start chanting ‘we want a cup run’ maybe then Dyche will actually start to care what fans want. I won’t hold my breath though.
Maybe the new owners will have a word with him and remind him he is an employee because I sometimes feel he has a little to much power and feels he is fireproof. He has been brilliant for us and I’m certain he will be again but I can’t help thinking he has become a little ‘safe’ in his role.

Re: All wrong tonight
I wonder if the Pieters business was a way of making sure that we were out of the competition in case by some miracle we won.
The error by Vydra scoring in the last minute against MK Dons must annoy Dyche. I can't explain the Fulham win except that they wanted it even less then we did.

Re: All wrong tonight
I can understand some being frustrated with Dyche's selection last night. He'd be far better coming out and saying "I made a mistake and picked the wrong team, I'm the Manager and I take full responsibility for that, the buck stops here. So to the fans I apologise". It wouldn't please everyone but it might at least calm the waters.

Has anyone seen a post match video interview with Sean? Or was he too embarrassed to do one?
There isn't one on the BFC site.

You think he would be too embarrassed to do one ?
Re: All wrong tonight
The reason Mee and Tarkoski were out at the start of the season was injuries received in training. Would I be allowed to criticize if the players who didn't play yesterday have an extra training session and Mee or Tarkowski get injured?
That FA Cup game last night was no more or less likely to cause injury than a training session. Bournemouth aren't a dirty side; I bet they get worse tackles in training. If we're going to hold players out of cup ties for fear of injury, then we ought to hold them out of training as well.

Maybe we are doing reduced training sessions based on the workload being compacted into a smaller period?dsr wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 1:09 pmThe reason Mee and Tarkoski were out at the start of the season was injuries received in training. Football games. are played at a far more higher tempo than training sessions. Bournemouth might not be a dirty side, but muscle injuries occur far more in games.dsr wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 1:09 pmThe reason Mee and Tarkoski were out at the start of the season was injuries received in training. Saturday will be our 11th game in 5 weeks. Changes were needed, changes happened.

And changes proved costly. Changes were needed but not so many. Should have been the same as at Fulham change wise
