Re: ARTICLE: The ins and outs for Saturday
As someone says on t'other thread, that still leaves us with a pretty strong squad.
My main concern is tiredness, we looked knackered late second half last night.

My God it's been a tough last 12 months injury wise. How many games have we completed without an injury (or several) during or subsequently?
Re: ARTICLE: The ins and outs for Saturday
Good to know that we are almost at full strength with regards to the strikers.

Re: ARTICLE: The ins and outs for Saturday
It's incredible but we are not the only club suffering with injuries, we just happen to have a smaller squad than some of the others. There were warnings that this would happen without a full pre-season and it's proving to be the case.

Think it is just a case of getting on with it and getting this season done as best as we can. If they do go ahead glad most of our players won't be involved in the Euros and can have a proper break this summer then start next season fully rested.
With each game passing the clamour to go full strength in the cup considering we are picking up a fresh injury a game looks more bizarre but thankfully now we can go to 1 game a week and give some of them some much needed rest.
Re: ARTICLE: The ins and outs for Saturday
is Brady injured or was he taken off yesterday due to the chance of a second yellow, I didn't hear or see anything regarding injury when he left the field?
Re: ARTICLE: The ins and outs for Saturday
So we could line up
Pope
Lowton Tarks Mee Taylor
Brownhill Westy Cork McNeil
2 from 3 or 4 strikers
Bench to include Long Bardsley 1 or 2 strikers GK Benson Dunne

Re: ARTICLE: The ins and outs for Saturday
Recurrence of achilles injury - going for a scan - I don't think Dyche has ever taken off a player who he thought might get a second yellow.

thanks guys, much appreciated, was a lot of chatter when watching plus follow a group and the commentators were saying they believed it was tactical to prevent what they saw as a red card in the waiting.

Shows how commentators just make things up - clearly not a tactical move at all.

We do shoulder some of the blame ourselves too. We’ve gone into the season with 3 recognised wide players and two of those are notoriously injury prone.
We’ve also got an ageing squad and it’s not unusual to see players get more injuries as they reach their late 20s/early 30s.
Our various injury crises this season are a combination of bad luck and poor planning/execution.

Re: ARTICLE: The ins and outs for Saturday
Absolutely. If we go down it will because we did not bring in a starter for rsm or because of the points lost (especially to Newcastle and Saints) early season. The latter because we did not sign a cb despite knowing Mee would be out and Tarks maybe going/having a convenient injury until the window closed.agreenwood wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 4:30 pmThis is true.

Re: ARTICLE: The ins and outs for Saturday
I got the impression that one of the things Sean Dyche was most upset about over the summer was letting Aaron Lennon go. He may not always have been a tremendous asset, but it would certainly be useful to have him available now and in previous weeks.

We may be physically tired after the run of games. WBA will be mentally fatigued with having such a gap in points to try and make up. The two should balance out.

You could see Brady limping when he passed the ball to Lowton just before our goal. Of course many won't look at the finer details just to have a pop at a playerClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 2:45 pmRecurrence of achilles injury - going for a scan - I don't think Dyche has ever taken off a player who he thought might get a second yellow.

Re: ARTICLE: The ins and outs for Saturday
My only criticism of SD, has been how every minor knock seems to lead to a player missing 6 games, but I really feel for him at the moment.
Not just the injuries, but it seems clear that more than one player is on the pitch, not fully fit. Jay Rod and Brady, both look to be carrying something. The team seemed to tire those last 10 mins as well.
I think we are OK, just, this Saturday, the sooner we get back to one game a week the better.

Stubbornness is as stubbornness does, to mangle a Forrest Gump quote.
Dyche’s stubbornness is the portcullis of our quality, the guardian of our strength.

Re: ARTICLE: The ins and outs for Saturday
No supporter knows for sure and I would not necessarily believe what the Club said, as there was too much money at stake with a possible transfer.
My opinion is that Tarks was going until Sean put his foot down and that Tarks was being kept from playing, whilst we were desperate for a cb. Others have a different view.

One total rubbish, the other a possibility, as something has to explain the hopeless start to a campaign. I'll let you work out which is which.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 6:09 pmYup, and the vaccine contains a microchip that monitors your movements.

I’ve said there was no convenient injury and that is fact and not based on anything the club has said.summitclaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 6:05 pmNo supporter knows for sure and I would not necessarily believe what the Club said, as there was too much money at stake with a possible transfer.

Re: ARTICLE: The ins and outs for Saturday
Our "mixed" results this season have largely been due to hardly ever having a settled team. That is due to injuries and not to wild conspiracy theories about purposely keeping one of our best players out of the side.summitclaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 6:15 pmOne total rubbish, the other a possibility, as something has to explain the hopeless start to a campaign. Re: ARTICLE: The ins and outs for Saturday
Yep our results up to game 8 were brilliant. Our results with Tarks and Mee playing are as good as any time in the PL. Do you think KL as 1st reserve cb and JD as 2nd is adequate for the PL.?

Re: ARTICLE: The ins and outs for Saturday
If that's a question for me, then the answer is no, but I fail to see what that has to do with your warped opinion that Tarkowski was purposely being left out of the side in case we might sell him.summitclaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 6:30 pmYep our results up to game 8 were brilliant. Re: ARTICLE: The ins and outs for Saturday
Of course there was the expensive problem boy BG. We've spent a big chunk of money (and perhaps still are spending money) on a defender that isn't available. It shows there is an issue with bringing in a quality CB to be the number three. KL has generally done OK when called upon within his limitations and we are lucky to have someone with his attitude.summitclaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 6:30 pmYep our results up to game 8 were brilliant. Re: ARTICLE: The ins and outs for Saturday
Yes if we can get the 3 points tomorrow we'll then have 8 days to recover before the Tottenham game, and boy do we need some down time right now, we were running on empty on Wednesday, and although I'd have dearly loved an extended cup run, you do wonder how we'd have coped with the extra fixtures, as our squad is already being stretched to breaking point.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 2:35 pmThink it is just a case of getting on with it and getting this season done as best as we can.
