Hopefully Talbot does reopen. But if it doesn’t there’s obviously a market for a pub like it b

2 week holidays to magaluf. Doing it day after day all day and night for two weeks. How was that even possible.
I know what you mean. Like you, I'm glad I packed in with the binges. Some people carry on like they always have, but it sure shows on them. I know people who look a good 10 years older than their age. They are the ones who spend most of their weekends in the pub or at least they did until recently.

Same. Don’t know if it’s a generation thing or modern society. As I barely drink at all now (perhaps kids and work changed that) but doesn’t appeal to get in the states I did. Boring perhaps.

Would be great if it reopened, but I'm not sure. Would you want to take on a pub in town these days? Even before covid the nightlife was absolutely on its arse and getting worse.

Just seen a post on bookface,it looks like the Talbot are hoping to reopen when the restrictions end. With that and the BFC takeover finally over, this is great news and a good start for the new year

Really hope the Talbot does re-open.

A great live music venue (and very few left in Burnley even before Covid) and always a good selection of real ales.

Looks like the owners of the Thornton are taking on the Brunlea pub in town. With a bit of light at the end of the tunnel now could Burnley's nightlife see a bit of a renaissance? Surely after a year stuck at home everyone, particularly younger people are itching to get back out?

There’s a new Irish bar opening up in the old Endsleigh/Poppies Beauty building too.

Yes they will be running both according to the Burnley Express article.

Theres a decent argument that Tinder and the like killed nightclubs. No need to go there to try and pull now is there? You arent going there for th quality of the ale either, so its a thing of the past. Its either pubs or proper pill popping Dance music gaffs. Not much call for a dancing round yer handbags gaff now

I'm sure someone who knows what they're doing could make a go of the Brunlea. Town is crying out for somewhere decent to go from about 8pm till midnight.
