International call ups and quarantine
Could call ups for Vydra, JBG and Brady mean them missing games for us due to having to quarantine on return ?
(I'm assuming they have to quarantine ?)

Re: International call ups and quarantine
I noticed the South American qualifiers have been postponed. Not sure what's happening in Europe though, I think there's talk of switching venues like they've done with the Champions league to avoid the need to quarantine.

I would hope this time, given their recent significant fitness issues, they would ask not to be considered and concentrate on getting fit for the run in.

Re: International call ups and quarantine
Exactly! didn't JBG and Robbie return from international duty carrying knocks last time, I don't even know what this international cycle involves, and I'm indifferent at best, at such a vital period of the domestic season it's madness to be playing internationals, and even madder if players are going to be travelling thousands of miles throughout Europe, I seem to recall many players being unavailable following the last international break for various reasons, but mainly due to covid outbreaks, and having to self-isolate, and if this happens again then there will come a point where clubs will refuse to release their players in future.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 10:28 pmI would hope this time, given their recent significant fitness issues, they would ask not to be considered and concentrate on getting fit for the run in.

World Cup qualifiers in the main, so not games players would choose to duck.

As much as I want football to go ahead and as much as we don’t need to lose players they should have to do what is expected of everyone else. If we are in a quarantine situation then they shouldn’t be exempt. Maybe the clubs, who pay their wages should just not release them. I don’t know the answer but different rules for different people has just never sat easily with me.

Re: International call ups and quarantine
It is time the international fixtures were taken out of the season. If they took a month at the end of the European leagues at least the non-international players would get an extended rest to allow their bodies to fully recover. As it is clubs are fretting on losing players to international injuries and the loss of a star player for title attack or relegation battle.

Re: International call ups and quarantine
I wonder how many international players our relegation rivals have. We have 5 definite 6 (Pope, BPF, Long, Brady, JBG, Vydra) plus McNeil I’d under 21’s play and Wood if NZ play.
