Lingard
What a signing for West Ham. To think some were ridiculing the mere suggestion of him coming to us. Not that he ever wouldve.
Been outstanding for them. Exactly what we need. Someone with pace and energy through the middle.

He's proved me wrong for sure. Fair play to him.
Re: Lingard
Been a brilliant at West Ham. As you say a few on here thought he wouldn't be good enough for us!

Re: Lingard
I think it was a reasonable position for our fans to take regarding him coming here. He could well have gone to West Ham and played the big I am and sulked, but the lad has got his sleeves up and shown he not just has the ability, but the attitude to back it. All credit to him.

Re: Lingard
Same here.
I appreciate form is still temporary but he looks a much better player, unburdened by whatever was keeping him down at Man U.

Re: Lingard
Typical of football fans, he’s better than anything we have and always was.
There’s been some cracking players wrote off on here, all clubs are the same though, that’s what makes football such a funny old game

100% agree Lingard was always technically miles better than anyone at our club.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 7:11 pmTypical of football fans, he’s better than anything we have and always was.

Re: Lingard
He went to the right club, and he’s doing really well for them. I don’t like West Ham, or Lingard for that matter, but it’s good to see a different club challenging at the top end of the table again - it gives some hope to the rest of us in the League that it can happen.
Good luck to them, I hope they make the top 4 and stop one of the traditional big 6 getting some income from it, it all helps level it a bit

Re: Lingard
Whoever suggested Jesse lingard wasn’t good enough for us is a weapons grade fool.
He’s an excellent player when he’s in form. Had a tremendous impact at West Ham, and he could well have had the same impact here, but of course that would be dependent on the role he was given.

Re: Lingard
Moyes is doing an amazing job at West Ham - a couple of astute additions in Dawson and Lingard - both of whom deemed not good enough for us by some on here
Only barrier to his continued progress at the London Stadium will be when they let fans back in

Moyes doing a fantastic job. Some great signings in Dawson, Soucek, Coufal and Lingard.

Yep he's also cleared out the dead wood such as Felipe Anderson & Sébastien Haller.Boroclaret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 9:09 pmMoyes doing a fantastic job. Some great signings in Dawson, Soucek, Coufal and Lingard.
And his signings haven't cost fortunes either, what he seems to have done is galvanised the whole dressing room, and got them all pulling in the same direction, even their recent injury concerns haven't impeded their chase for a CL place, and whether they make the top 4 or not he's got to be the frontrunner as MOTY.

Re: Lingard
Certainly helps a manager when you can get signings over the line. Dyche would probably do better than Moyes there.

Re: Lingard
Not sure, but didn't most of the negative posts allude to Lingard "not being a Dyche player" and being above our wage ceiling?
Re: Lingard
I must admit, I’d have said no to Dawson. Seeing him this season, admittedly mostly in highlights, I was wrong. Lingard wouldn’t have come to us I don’t think, but it was obvious he’d have easily been good enough for our team.
Re: Lingard
Lingard in Declan rice out me thinks.
Re: Lingard
Without doubt a tremendous signing, Moyes gives him the confidence to play. Mentioning Dawson he was always someone I'd hope we'd bring in, especially at the beginning of this season, he'd have been perfect for our set plays. Moyes has to take the credit though for some astute signings.

Re: Lingard
In fairness that’s true the majority of the people conceded that JL would have been more than good enough to compliment our squad but wages being the sticking issues, I think a very small number of posters did outrightly dismiss JL regardless of wage demands as just being not good enough for us & the reasons cited were the lack of game time whilst at man United being the chief reason & basically saying he wouldn’t be fit enough for us, but some of the same posters would find reasons for pele in his pomp earning £50 a week as not being good enough, that's just the way some people see things on this forum if it doesn’t align cognitively with there mindset it’s not possible for other things to be believed or the possibility that it could happen.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 9:45 pmNot sure, but didn't most of the negative posts allude to Lingard "not being a Dyche player" and being above our wage ceiling?

In fairness I was one of those people as I felt the fee Liverpool wanted coupled with Ings' lack of match action and injuries didnt make that particular move a good gamble for us.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 11:43 amThere were people on here who wouldn't have had Danny Ings back.
Good for him though to come back as well as he has. His talent isnt really in doubt.

Correct, you can imagine what would be written on here had we agreed to pay 20m fee and a huge wage on a 3 year deal and he did his knee within a few months of being here.
Look what gets written about Defour despite being a fraction of the cost.
