From what I saw it all looked to be going ok as well, and bringing in some much needed funds.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 17, 2021 11:39 amI went colne CC yesterday for a few, best places to go are CC, they need the money and they’re the biggest beer gardens in town

That is something that worries me as a Lowerhouse regular. I couldn't attend the friendly v Greenmount today but driving past it looked very busy and all tables taken. I am attending tomorrow against Norden and I will be getting there extra early to ensure a seat.

Re: Friendlies (Cricket)
It all worked pretty well at Padiham today, despite the draconian rules the local authority had insisted on.
Padiham ran out easy winners against Baxenden. They were all out for 105 and Padiham knocked them off without loss.

Well that’s all clear now. What are they putting in the vaccine over there !!!!
Re: Friendlies (Cricket)
Colne have just issued a statement saying members only from tomorrow. Think they've struggled today with too many idiots turning up. Was a bad move advertising on Facebook, they'd have still been busy even without it.

Great win for Burnley today. Good compliant crowd topped up with a visit from a senior lowerhouse figure but no sign of Bigredrose

Re: Friendlies (Cricket)
There was a 2nd 11 friendly this afternoon at Lowerhouse.
Hundreds turned up.
Many were not there for the cricket and it was extremely difficult to manage the COVID arrangements. Social distancing being a particular issue but how can this be monitored without many club volunteers enforcing it ?
On the basis of todays attendance, tomorrow will bring a huge gate down at the 'House.
Up the House (& local cricket).

Problem on Colne is that the cricket club is basically the only place with a decent beer garden open. Throw in the advertising on Facebook and it was a recipe for disaster.

To be honest Dressinggown I didn’t think distancing was that big of a problem, people may have stood up but they did tend to stay in their groups and I think expecting complete compliance is sadly unrealistic.Dressinggown wrote: ↑Sat Apr 17, 2021 10:17 pmThere was a 2nd 11 friendly this afternoon at Lowerhouse.

The head of local licensing did a spot check and he was happy with the arrangements.
On the whole, I’d say that compliance was good although there is the issue of people not wearing masks when going to the toilet.
As you say, it’s difficult for club volunteers to enforce everything.
