Today's Game
Re: SOUTHGATE OUT!
Sterling brilliant. Our best player. But a word for Pickford who has been excellent.

The whole defence was fantastic but Stones looks on the way to being one of the best in the world

Just remember, we are the negative ones on here, I'd say we are realistic and fair.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 7:11 pmDeclan Rice hammering the idiot fans like the ones spouting rubbish on here. Well said that man

Re: SOUTHGATE OUT!
Well played to England. That must be the weakest German side I've seen in a long time. Certainly as poor as the one from the late 70's. Do they have to leave Wembley for one game?

Of course some will think we have already won the Euros .
But thanks for the mention , can’t be bothered to find out how critical I’ve been of Southgate. I trust you have been bothered so I’ll say tonight I applaud him . For a Yes Man he has shown some b***s at last

I think Fulledge under 8’s would have matched that German sideElizabeth wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 7:17 pmOf course some will think we have already won the Euros .

Look it was a good win but we were tested more by Scotland. Italy will roll us over…if we get that far.
Re: Today's Games
Super result and a bit of history. Sterling and Pickford were the standouts for me but Grealish made a huge difference. Kane looked well off it but pops up with that goal. Would have loved to have been at Wembley.

Funny how the critics can’t just admit he has been excellent tactically and psychologically again.

Ferdinand ‘he will stick to his guns. He won’t give into the fans or media who demand he picks their system!’
Shearer ‘Gareth has the mentality. He knows when to stick and twist’.
Words to that affect.

The way the players have talked about the team togetherness and about Southgate in the post match interviews is a beacon for what a top manager and leader of men Southgate has been and iscricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 7:23 pmFunny how the critics can’t just admit he has been excellent tactically and psychologically again.

Good win but was nowhere near as comfortable as is being made out.
For what it’s worth, I think we should be beating that German team on home soil.

For as crap as Pickford is consistency wise at Everton, he's always been incredible for England.

What a decent guy. ‘Does that make up for 96?’
No I saw Dave seaman on the screen and I can never make up for that to them. But this is a nice feeling.

Re: SOUTHGATE OUT!
Some wanted Southgate out during the group stages
Same posters who wanted Sean out.
Enough said
Think Gareth Southgate will go down as England’s best Manager on 50 years — Since Sir Alf Ramsey.

Re: Today's Games
That miss from Muller was very reminiscent of Jordan Rhodes' at Ewood. As was the feeling that we, Burnley and England, were going to go on and win.

Sterling has shown to have excellent movement in this tournament but easily MOM?
He was one bad Muller finish from setting up Germany for an equaliser.

Well handled by Southgate though.
Re: SOUTHGATE OUT!
Overreactions on both sides.
It was a good win but still expected. I don’t know anybody who expected us to lose today. We were favourites for a reason.
Roll on the winners of Sweden/Ukraine.

Ironic that many critics of Our (Burnley) style under SD are full of praise for Gareth Southgates tactics.
Can't have it both ways.
