Brighton Match attendance

Post by Barleywiner » Sun Aug 08, 2021 4:11 pm

Is the Brighton match back to full capacity? Do fans need to show vaccine proof or a negative test or is it just a free for all?

Is it staggered entering and are many likely to wear masks in the concourses or seating areas ? Were many wearing masks yesterday ?

They said in the ticket office the other day they intend to have some proof soon but won’t for this game.

I was sat in NSU (previously JHU  ). I only saw two people in the whole area with masks on; a couple in front of me, and the bloke took his off once he had sat down.
The whole match-day experience felt very pre-Covid.

It's only a week away so wouldn't you think the Club would have put specific information on the website. The latest Covid information was for the Liverpool game last season. POOR

I was in JHU and wore a mask on the concourse and in the toilets but took it off when in my seat. The only other people I saw wearing masks were the stewards and BFC employees.
To be very honest that was a disappointment and it has unsettled me. Without wishing to get into controversial issues, my understanding is that wearing a mask is for the protection of others and not yourself. For family reasons I can't make the Brighton game but it has made me really question whether I will attend until stricter protocols are in place.

Each to their own.. I'm the opposite.. If I have to fanny around wearing a mask I'll be giving it a swerve. But I respect your view.

I’m the same as you.

For anyone who doesn’t feel comfortable. I respect your choice. But for anyone really that bothered, remember it’s only a choice to go on the match.

Very true and if rules are brought in around needing have vaccine or provide a negative test then the same principle applies for anyone not comfortable with that

I can’t argue with that. But would be against it. And ultimately would probably go less even though I’ve had both jabs.

It doesn't effect me either way but I hope as many people as possible get back to their old routine, get on the game and feel comfortable and happy.

Its been a long slog and I know how good I felt getting back to my first gig last week and to lots of people on here getting on the Turf will give them the same feeling

Are we still waiting to hear if the CFS will be fully open for the game on Saturday?
And is the latest position still the article shared last week saying that the Prem clubs were trying to get the league to relax the rules?

If so I’m amazed there hasn’t been most posts about this given how close we are to the first game.

I think at least for this Saturday and Leeds game it will be a free for all. Government wanting to bring in COVID passports legislation for the beginning of September, though I suspect it will massively depend on what daily cases will look like in 2/3 weeks time now sporting stadiums are reopening.

Staying away from the Turf until they can guarantee I can’t be breathing the same air as one other person in the ground.

No idea but sadly I won’t be there because I’m away. Imagine a lot will be in the same boat at the moment and with no new signings to get excited about, could see it being a poor one.

Yes, that all makes sense. I can't see random spot checks from a complete stranger about your medical history causing any arguments at all.

It does all seem a bit confusing...and does it only apply to the Premier League, not the Football League ?

I certainly heard of no such regulations on Saturday, when several games had larger attendances than we will get.

Depends how closely clubs stick to the rules really. Uefa set plenty of rules at the Euros, but the England games were basically a free for all.

I was talking more about things like wearing masks. If 75% of the stadium won't do it then it's impossible to enforce.

We could do with a drum to create an atmosphere if rules for masks come in as the singing will just sound muffled. If anyone follows Mr Pace on Twitter could you suggest it to him and maybe the club could put out a request for a drummer boys to come forward and save the day

Mask wearing simply to protect the great unjabbed being top of my personal list..followed by any sort of crap that needs me to fart about proving my status on some or other device... Will I be able to get a decent seat on the Longside or be forced to sit in the decaying mausoleum opposite? . Pre match pint in the fanzone?

If I'm parting with north of £1k in tickets, flights, trains, car hire, hotels and grub for the privilege I'd kinda like to have a clear picture.

No problem just arrive about an hour before you normally would or to be on the safe side make that two hours.

Take a test on Thursday, upload the info to the NHS site and get a text message from them as proof.
That's it

I'm not jumping through hoops to do something as simple as attending a football match. If they make it too much hassle I'll go and watch Colne FC instead, simple as that.

Cheers fb...I wasnt trying to be clever, just genuinely interested.I dont blame you at all for wanting things right when that sort of expenditure is involved.I think some if your queries ( fanzone, all stands being available, covid checks, etc.) have been answered on here as the evening has gone on.
