Hopefully we will see him play at the turf. Would certainly be the greatest player to grace the turf - because there is nobody better!

I never mentioned taxes at all.

But since you brought it up, only one of them is a convicted tax dodger.

And that should shut up one or two on here who harp on about our ageing squad. Ronaldo was born 5-2-85 !
Can we & should we compare rest of the teams ages in the interest of balance instead of 1 player!

Yes I wondered when the Utd game was, 8th February is the date, so mark it in your dairies now.

I strongly suspect we'll have more than 17k on for that fixture, and it'll also probably be televised for those who can't make it to TM that evening.

It's a great coup for the PL that Ronaldo is returning, yes he's 36, incidentally his birthday is the 5th February, so if he plays at TM he'll then be 37.

What's the odds Phil Bardsley gives him a warm welcome with a meaty tackle or two. :)

The odds on Bardsley are high because unless Lowton is injured or suspended, Phil will be on the bench.

Well I'll look forward to watching him play. If he drags this Man Utd team to the top of the league he really will cement his place as the best player ever.

And the fact that 24 hours ago Man City fans were crowing about him signing for them makes it all the better.

Perhaps! but it's a good few months away yet, so who knows what our line-up will be, and Lowts has had dips in form over his Burnley career, and Phil has stepped in to cover if required.

Messi stayed in Spain, Ronaldo played in top leagues in Italy, Spain, and our premier league, when Messi steps out of Spain he can't do it, look at his performances for Argentina. Ronaldo for me by a mile.
Ronaldo for me too. Look at his headed goal for Man U v Chelsea in Moscow, Champions League Final. Messi just didn’t have that in his locker, - great player, but just behind Ronaldo. IMHO.

Apart from the one he scored against Manchester United a year later.

I cannot believe it's even a debate about Ronaldo and Messi. Ronaldo is by far and away the best player to walk this planet . He has won league's in different countries. ..he's not had the safety blanket of Barcelona around him like Messi has. Don't get me wrong Messi is quality but ffs people let's have it right Ronaldo is head and shoulders above. The greatest player to EVER grace this planet. Power . Pace .and goals. TBE

Agree. Ronaldo I for me too.

Can head it, score FK’s, goals with his left, his right, overhead kicks, run with it (faster than Messi) and he puts in a defensive shift when needed too. He’s the complete player in my opinion.

Debates of this is all well and good. I prefer Ronaldo simply because I’ve seen much more of him.

But to try and degrade what Messi has done is laughable. All this “he’s had it easy at Barcelona is rubbish”. Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus. But Messi is the one that has had it “easy”.

Look at the history of Barcelona. Look at their trophy count before and after Messi. They’d won 62 before and now got 95.

Internationally Argentina were within 7 minutes of a World Cup Final penalty shoutout against Germany. 7 minutes of which Messi didn’t need to touch the ball again, maybe take a penalty and win the World Cup. He’d then be the greatest. People wouldn’t question it. But because of a simple 7 minutes Messi has “never done it internationally”.

If that does happen I wouldn’t quite call it “dragging” Man U have also strengthened significantly apart from CR & have been getting closer for awhile now.

I always felt that if I was a manger and could sign Ken do the two it would be Ronaldo.

The biggest disappointment with Messi for me
Is that he just followed the money this summer.

Two greats of the game. It's the longevity that makes them both truly astounding.

In the champions league game playing Liverpool on that Great "it has to be said come back" against Barcelona..messi was like a rabbit in the headlights and knocked out of his stride from the off....he took no part in the game and sneaked of the pitch at full time.

Ronaldo has certainly won something Messi hasn't.

An Oscar for his part in the Crying game! ;)
