I'd have hoped our budget would've been a little bigger than £13m net considering fees are paid over the duration of contracts. So we aren't losing £13m instantly, we've probably only paid £3m for Cornet so far.

There is little news from any journalistic source to suggest we are close to any other deals at the moment. Whereas there were numerous media outlets saying we were negotiating with Lyon.

Connor Roberts has been linked today. Dyche has suggested we have been looking at other options.With Cornet, it wasnt him or nothing.

Sean Dyche said that we have a couple of ‘maybes’. Not sure why you’d be looking to journalistic sources when the manager suggests we’re looking to make more signings.

Just because the negotiations with Cornet were dragged out doesn’t mean we ‘put all our eggs in one basket’ and this will in no way inhibit our ability to make more signings. We signed Lennon whilst these negotiations were ongoing for one.

I would not be in the least surprised if N-M’s message was aimed at Burnley along with Everton and possibly puts us back in the frame; it having looked to have fizzled out with Everton’s loan offer.

I have to admit to being keen on getting 2 x wingers, some cover for CH and a RB cover this window so if Roberts comes off I'll be perfectly happy with that.

What we've started to do is refresh the first team and squad, and we all agreed that was needed.

I was simply estimating (or guessing) the actual cost of Collins and Cornet @around £27m. I was not talking installments, agent fees, or revenue from sale of players (is that what yo meant by fees)

I suspect that is the problem. Arsenal see it as helping a competitor find a short term solution at their expense, when they want the decks cleared now.

AMN has made it clear he doesn't want to play RB so as you say, why would he swap clubs to potentially end up in the same situation at Everton?
Seems like a come and get me or play me in midfield plea. If indeed we are interested, he may be, if an agreement could be made; tempted to come to Burnley knowing we've negotiated similarly with Cornet to actually play him where he wants to play.
