Bristol City have signed George Tanner from Carlisle United. Rumoured to be around £300k. Good business.

We could do with a space in our squad that we could utilise in January if needs be.

Just waiting for the posts blaming Garlick for failing to sign that one!

Just have a weird hunch we’ll try for Barkley. Seems like We’re looking for an AM. Barkley plays AM. Had a good start at Villa (2 goals 1 assist in first 5) but then tore his hammy next game and was out til Feb. Never really the same after. If fit, recovered and been training? Just the 33 caps for England . Loan with a view?

Not seeing it anywhere else and both those stories were published some time ago. You'd also have to question a site which posts stories so close together - are they bothering to check sources. Quoting TalkSport, but nothing on that site as far as I can see.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
If Christie chooses Bournemouth over us, even though we’re offering better wages, then fair play to him I say. He’s obviously doing it for the right (footballing) reasons in his mind.
Nothing the club can be blamed for either.

i'm surprised Bournemouth aren't offering more than us tbh
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Seems like the other option, Lee, is headed to Mallorca. Might miss out on both potential "number 10s." Arsenal seem to want to keep AMN.
Anyone still in on my Jack Wilshire bandwagon?

That’s a rehash of an earlier tweet made by a talk sport presenter. Since then SSN reporter suggested the deal isn’t that close yet so we will see what happens today.IanMcL wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 3:02 am....and there he is, gone!

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Bournemouth aren't getting promoted under Parker so he'll be committing to the Championship for at least a couple of seasons. Maybe he should call up Craig Bryson and ask him whether choosing the easy option of the Championship was a good call?
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
The talksport presenter in question is Alex Crook, who has been a reporter on the South Coast for many years.
A lot of what he says is rubbish, but anything to do with the clubs on the south coast, especially Bournemouth, he's usually spot on.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
If the reports of demands around playing time and position are correct, we need to move on from Christie now, how are you supposed to manage a player and the rest of the team with that kind of mentality.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Fair enough. All the noise suggests it to be that way including from north of the border.

Still a weird one
You'd have thought that he'd want to challenge himself at the highest level and if he plays really well for us, then a big money move is a certainty
You can play really well in the championship, but if your team doesn't go up, then you are much less likely to get noticed

Imagine a potiental employee at the interview saying
Il only take the job if im allowed work in that office at the desk doing that type work.
Bye.

He's obviously spoken to Parker who has promised him what he wants, playing wise. Perhaps we haven't. If the wages story is true its a nice change to see a player move for footballing reasons rather than money.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 7:29 amStill a weird one

I can honestly say I've never seen him play, so I don't know if it's a big miss, or not.

But it would have given us some more cover, and would have been another one who brought the average age of the squad down
But if Parker has promised him game time, and he struggles, then that is going to bite both of them

I think it's more like 2 different roles rather than the desk etc.
I previously went for 2 different job interviews in the same sector, I was offered both jobs but chose the role that I preferred because I wanted to do that job rather than the other role, irrespective of salary.

We are not offering him 2 different roles.
Right sided midfielder. He wants to play as a No 10.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
How do you know this? Fact is we have no clue what talks have gone on. Seen as though we were also looking at Lee from Valencia who is a 10 it suggests to me it’s a spot Dyche / we want filling.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
As i said earlier. I dont think Christie is good enough for premier league. Scored loads goals snd assists in a very poor league where standard football is lower championship level at best.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
We have Mc Neill to play as No 10 …if we choose. And a far better player the Christie.

Not about comfort zone. Both jobs were in fact out of my comfort zone. It was about job satisfaction. Highly underrated in my opinion.agreenwood wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 7:48 am…if one of those jobs was at a higher level, with a higher salary, but you chose the lower level job because it was in your comfort zone.

Quite refreshing to see a young British player wanting to play rather than warming the bench at a big club or a club at the top level. We’ve seen loads of them over the years.
Collins is different - a very obvious route into the team in 12 mths at worst. Christie could easily be Vydra mark 2 - - the guy Dyche paid good money for but never seems to play.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I'm not saying that we were - according to the link, Bournemouth were offering him a different role:
"The offer from Turf Moor would see Christie pick up a bigger wage packet than at Bournemouth, but he would have a better chance to play in the position he wants on the south coast."
How accurate that is I don't know and how good he is, I personally don't know but all I'm saying is that salary in a job isn't always everything (seems very rare for the football world, though, I will admit).
Anyway, looks like we have to move on from this one.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
But To test urself at a higher level… which Premier would be.
Unless Christie dosent think himself that hes up to it.
He might never get another chance to play in premier league again

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Boden suggesting Christie prefers Bournemouth’s style of play to Burnley’s as it’ll suit him more. It’s a shame to have our style perceived to be a certain way and therefore unattractive to any creative players.

Nobody has said we're offering two roles. We are offering him a contract, so are Bournemouth; it seems the Bournemouth offer matches what he wants more than ours.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Perhaps he is not prepared to put in the graft and hard work that Dyche demands?

I respect that’s making a footballing decision, he’s thinking about what’s best for his career rather than just following the money.

I'd imagine that's a lot of mince tbh.
Hell know though, that he'll need to fight for a starting spot at Burnley...probably doesnt fancy that...so off ya pop son.

A loan option for Taylor Booth suggests that we have lost the race for Christie.
Could be an interesting day.

Not sure why anyone is arsed about Christie, if he wants to go elsewhere where he is guaranteed a starting spot without working for it let him go.

But, unfortunately, that's how most people in football (players, summerisers and fans) perceive our style of play
We may not like it, but we have to live with it
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Yes sounds reasonable but Ive always felt that he had a weight problem and if his hamstring is giving him a problem (and to be out for so long) then maybe/maybe not.CharlieinNewMexico wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 1:22 amJust have a weird hunch we’ll try for Barkley. Some sort of loan move with conditions could be an option though depends on the clubs views.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Not really, because that style of play has kept us up for six years. Had we played more attractive football in that time, I’m sure we wouldn’t be in the Premiership or signing players like Cornet.
I also think it’s an easy story for the media when a deal falls through, regardless of whether it’s true.
I’ll believe we’ve been rejected when Bournemouth announce it, but if he does go there then fair enough - wrong mentality to be a Dyche player, who rightly or wrongly offers no guarantees and likes players to fight for their shirt. If that’s not his bag, he’s not a Burnley player.
