Not sure because as i said we dont need to consider them - I suppose like what to do with fans for a couple of hours, staffing, policing and emergency services issues. I feel for people who have wasted time and money today - I'm lucky because I'm local. As I say delaying the kick off may have been a realistic option.

Heating been on for three days. The problem was not being able to keep the pitch clear of snow.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 1:13 pmHave we not had the heating on? I cannot imagine it is because of pitch condition, must be approaches unsafe for fans attending.
I was down there from 12 on foodbank duty, no problem really outside.

It’s a Brexit issue - there aren’t enough drivers to deploy all the gritters and there was a worry that if the snow kept falling and the temperature dropped then road safety would be severely compromised when people were leaving at 4pm.

Snow wasn't an issue at kick off, but it is now.
Commentators are saying they can't see both goals, only one due to it snowing.
Players having to shield their eyes apparently

It's clearly the wrong decision.
Anybody in Burnley who has a window to look out of can see that.
Re: MATCH OFF.
I’ve just got back to the Wirral having been about to park up when the game was called off. The roads were certainly starting to be challenging in and around Burnley and I was worrying if it got any worse I might not make it home. So looks like a sensible decision to me.

Re: MATCH OFF.
Tottenham stopped in Manchester last night and that is the reason they were delayed getting to the ground.
Re: MATCH OFF.
You have raised fair points about option to delay and have done so with inconvenience and cost to supporters at the forefront of your mind. Not sure why you are being mocked it.
The bizarre comments on this thread are from those who have criticised the club and simply made stuff up like the the under soil heating has failed and Conte got the game called off.

This costs people time and money. The lack of empathy shown by some people is astounding.
The 2nd half at Man City has been delayed by all of 5 minutes to clear the snow off the pitch. That should have been the case at Burnley.

Things Rowls thinks he is an expert in
- Economic activity involving nation states
- Viruses and the spread off such viruses
- Vaccine side effects
- BLM
- why football matches are called off

If it helps, we got to the edges of Burnley before we heard it was off, popped into Blackburn services for a coffee, and are now at home, and we accept its just one of those things
Just chill out eh?

If it had been delayed for 1/2 hours as Rowls suggested, some fans could have been sat in freezing and wet conditions for 3/4 hours by the time the game finished.

Some people will take any stance simply to disagree with me because they hold different political opinions.
A lot of people will be needlessly out of pocket today and had their time wasted.

Not if they announce the delay at the time they announced the calling off. Only a handful of folk will be in the ground an hour before kick off.
A delay seemed the most sensible approach. Sadly common sense seems in short supply in these situations.

Re: MATCH OFF.
The surrounds were ok and in any case most people were already there. One thing we knew is that the snow was due to stop around 3. It's blue sky now. outside so maybe a delay would have seen us able to play.
Not sure what time it was called off exactly but given it was less than an hour before kick off, the teams had been confirmed, with Collins and Cork in. The full teams are at

Re: MATCH OFF.
I'd checked out the weather forecast long in advance and thought nobody sensible could call the game off today without at least waiting.
The forecast was available well before the shower started.
Why didn't he just wait? Even if the forecast had been completely wrong we'd know he at least made the consideration.
It was the wrong decision.

It would have been easy to communicate a delay and the game could (and should) have been played. Thousands of supporters are now out of pocket.

Re: MATCH OFF.
Only needed somebody to slip and hurt themself, behind Jimmy mac or North stand, and then a claim goes in against the club, and there is people who would. So safety of fans was undoubtably the main reason.
