Also looking forward to this one.

Probably going to be the final Spiderman film isn't it?

I highly doubt it given that Sony are developing a venom 3 (we know Tom Holland will be involved in that).

Plus the upcoming release of Morbius, with rumoured stand alone films for Rhino and sandman in development. I would suggest this is just the start of Spider mans movieverse.

However, it will depends on marvel/Sony paying whatever Tom Holland demands

I’ll watch it on a dodgy website a few days after it comes out. Although I feel like I’ve already seen it from the trailer.

I’d be surprised if it did anything spectacular at the box office, can’t see it coming anywhere near End Game.

The Sony/Marvel deal ends after this one with the rights reverting to Sony. There's a pretty good chance that a new deal can be agreed though. A shared MCU Spider-Man is probably going to earn Sony more at the moment than Sony taking the character back and heading out in a different direction.

I stopped caring about spiderman when I was about 10.

I'm 46 now.

I would love to know average audience age for this film. I suspect it will be somewhere around 30.

There was a young lad, many years ago, who used to come to each home game dressed as spiderman. He used to sit in the JML.

I say young lad, I'm guessing so, as grown men would have no interest in fictional superheroes, would they?

I would suggest anyone with an interest stays away from Youtube until the film is released.

In the numerous 'teasers' they have released, most of the surprises have been given away already.

I liked what Eternals opened the franchise to but the story felt a little rushed.

Shang chi was a great solo film.

Really enjoying the recent Hawk eye series as well. Brings it back down to earth a bit more

That would make it the, or one the highest grossing films of all time. I feel this is unlikely. The last one did $1.1bn, and that was pre COVID when people went to cinemas and they were all allowed to be full.

True it is very optimistic but I believe the current highest earning film is End game at 2.797 billion dollars.

I suspect Spider man will get very close to that.

Three of the biggest cinema chains in America websites broke down last night at the midnight release of tickets. That is some serious demand

My daughter is Marvel mad and particularly Spiderman (a Tom Holland crush) and managed to beg me to take her to see Shang-Chi. I loved it. A fantastic stand alone film in the MCU but it's clear he will be integrated in.
Eternals I was less keen on going to see going off the reviews and whilst not as intriguing and exciting as Shang-Chi I quite liked it. Not sure how it fits within the MCU though long term.
Spiderman is THE one for her though. My life won't be worth living if I don't take her to see it asap it is released. Good way to keep her on the straight and narrow..the threat not to take her :D

Saw Superman 2 a long time ago. Also Toby Maguire in first Spiderman and the first 3 Star Wars films, none since.
The clips look like a film for pre teens.
Whatever floats your boat - enjoy.

not watched a Spiderman for a long time but loved Guardians of the Galaxy, definitely my favorite out of all these types of movies, yet next one of those will be 2023 :(

But the new Matrix will be out soon, this month, so I know we will be going to see that, will it give Spiderman a run for it's money at the box office?

I suspect Spider man will blow any film out of the water at the box office this year.

Estimating a global opening weekend of 600m at the box office

I might watch the new film but am not really too fussed about it.

That said anyone dismissing Spiderman as 'for kids' will have overlooked the absolutely brilliant Spiderman into the Multiverse. Not only a fantastic Spoderman film but a great and innovative film in its own right. Think its top 100 on IMDB, certainly (and deservedly) top 250. Can't recommend it highly enough, even for the cynics.

I had no idea there's a new Matrix coming. Absolutely loved the first one but wasn't too crazy about the sequels and I can't even remember what happened in them. I wonder if you need a refresher on them all to understand the next one?

Judging by fidal's contribution to this thread I'm guessing he's currently in B&Q telling any staff, who'll listen to him, that he doesn't like lawn mowers.

I've seen No way home again and it's just as good the second time around.
