No foul, but keeper has it in two hands. Bit of a strange one. Only 'dropped' rue to contact with opposition player while in two hands, although pope's movement has caused it. Strange one.

If we can’t beat Newcastle then it’s looking bleak

We don't deserve to stay up if we're going to play like this to be fair.

No it spilled when he fell - no foul - should have punched it.

Looked to me like Pope hit the Newcastle player with the ball and it popped out his hands. Never a foul.

Lee Mason on VAR - we did call it earlier in the week.
Was it a foul? The key question is how often is that given in identical incidents, NOT whether we think it should be a foul or not.

We will beat these, as long as we don't resort to long ball.

On this performance we are relegated - why can't McNeill play a forward pass.

This is what stings. Week in and out keepers are afforded loads of protection, the one time they haven't and it's us on the recieving end! Typical. Can't have your cake and eat it I suppose!CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 3:45 pmLee Mason on VAR - we did call it earlier in the week.

Could we please get the ball in their box. They are garbage at the back and we are not troubling them. Season after season we go they and they are crap and we still don’t win.

Shocking from Vydra.
If he was able to finish his dinner we’d be about 14th. He needs getting shot of as quickly as possible. Waste of time.

We are simply not good enough. Not by a long way.
Re: Newcastle United v Burnley match thread
I do think it’s a season too far off the back of recruitment mismanagement this year.
We have been dire this afternoon in a game that we should be fighting tooth and nail to win.

Re: Newcastle United v Burnley match thread
I’ve spent 40 years believing that if a keeper has 2 hands on the ball it’s his ball. If it’s knocked out by an opposition player by any means it’s a foul. Watched it back a few times now and it was definitely knocked out.

Player plays hardly any football and is slated when missing big chances from fans who expect him to fix the problems of a failing team.
Fair assessment?

Re: Newcastle United v Burnley match thread
No more a foul on the keeper than Ben Mees was against the Leeds keeper last season yet somehow Leeds got a free kick for that one which meant Barnes 'goal' was ruled out
Think Nick just made the wrong choice there and should have punched it rather than try and catch it

Never seen such an immobile team or one so reluctant to go forward.
This is proper Dycheball.

Re: Newcastle United v Burnley match thread
I got ripped apart for saying Vydra was overrated. This is why Dyche doesn’t play him as much as some fans want. Great touch then for some reason decides to slide when shooting.
