the British public is moronic
the British public is moronic
This year there is no Escape to victory, the greatest Xmas film of all time. I know it’s not a festive themed film, but over the years it was rightly recognised as a yuletide classic, often played on or closely around Xmas day.
But clearly the British public lack the any sense of culture.
Instead we have not one, but two Mrs Browns Boys specials.
Mrs Browns boys is the most vomit inducing drivel that has ever been created, yet gammon faced oiks lap it up. It’s the worst of humanity, and if COVID wipes humans of the face of the earth the only saving grace is it will create a world that is Mrs Brown free

Regarding Mrs Browns Boys - we should take off and nuke the whole site from orbit, its the only way to be sure

Don't watch what's on TV. Watch what you want on the internet instead. You should be able to rent the film for a quid. Even better, buy it and play it every Christmas.

I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone that likes Mrs Browns Boys. They must be out there somewhere to get the viewing figures it does. Worst thing I’ve ever watched.

Escape To Victory has been on sky regularly over the last couple of months.
I like Brendan O’Carroll and the Agnes Brown book and film are decent can't forgive him for turning them into the utter drivel that is MBB.

Buy the DVD, I have all my favourite films/TV series on DVD. I tried watching Trading Places on sky movies and the amount of editing was a joke.

Funny how they never admit to watching it. I think the Govt should bring in Mrs Brown's Boys lateral flow tests. You can never be too careful.PremierLeagueClass wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 8:09 amI don’t think I’ve ever met anyone that likes Mrs Browns Boys. I pity anyone who watches Mrs Brown’s Boys at Christmas. Shockingly bad. I don’t have terrestrial tv and stream so I can miss all the garbage such as this.

Re: the British public is moronic
I always think it is kind of odd how some people consider their opinions as some kind of definitive statement about the world. If you believe something is drivel that’s okay but to make it some sort of ultimate statement of fact is rather amusing. For what it’s worth, in my opinion, Escape to Victory is probably one of the worst films ever made but I wouldn’t complain about it being on the telly box if some people want to watch it, neither would I question their intelligence for doing so.Inchy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 7:31 amThis year there is no Escape to victory, the greatest Xmas film of all time. It's purile crap.
Re: the British public is moronic
I must be stuck in 1998 as I still find plenty of decent stuff to watch on terrestrial television. That being said, I flicked through to see what is on, on Christmas Day - it’s a really poor offering - either repeats or the usual weekly programmes with a Christmas hat stuck on top.
Re: the British public is moronic
Lets face apart from a few quiz programmes and GB news TV is largely tripe.

Re: the British public is moronic
I hardly watch any terrestrial TV these days. In fact I watch hardly any TV at all. But Mrs. Brown's Boys is the one programme that made my brother-in-law and mother-in-law both laugh out loud. Neither are with us any more, but seeing them laughing and smiling during their difficult twilights brings a little warmth to my heart.
I think calling them 'moronic' for lapping up a humour that doesn't appeal to you is rather unnecessary. I don't particularly like it so I just choose not to watch it.

It’s offensively bad. It’s the worst type of comedy. It’s stuck in the 70s where it also wouldn’t have been funny.

Personally I like it, it's easy viewing.
The fact is though it's probably reached the end of its time, it's viewing numbers have been declining for years now.
They've had a good run though and well done to them all.

Funny and easy watching.
The fact that the word Gammon was used just screams snowflake.
What about RoyChubby Brown do you find him funny? Or is he too crude to be considered humorous.

I can’t stick Mrs Browns Boys. A few years ago, the in laws came round and we were watching it, while I was basically muttering every predictable punchline that all the characters were going to say, the rest of the family were laughing along to it.
I had to leave. It was an excuse just to sit in the bedroom by myself for an hour.

I was on a racing trip to Ripon many years ago and a whole coach load of us were drinking in the bar and who should walk past but Chubby Brown and his wife.Everybody burst into a spontaneous round of "You fat Bast@rd,you fat bast@rd " Chubby and his wife busted into laughter and started conducting us all.A very funny moment.Shaggy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 3:27 pmIs this the latest trendy thing now slag off Mrs Browns Boys. There are certain films that even though hated as a kid are now every bit essential to generating that Christmas feel. The obvious ones are Wizard of Oz and Oliver! But also Muppets Christmas Carol, Miracle on 34th street (RA version), The Great Escape, The Guns of Navarone, Kelly’s Heroes, The Magnificent Seven and Bing Crosby Merrie Olde Christmas Special 1977 (the one with Bowie).
