Shame we didn't play utd last night. They were very poor. Prob have a rocket up em on Thursday

Knocks can be picked up when players are not playing games.

Sean said during the press conference that his players are well looked after in terms of welfare.

He also doesn't understand why he (and others?) have to wear a mask when entering the training ground/stadium, when he/they have just been tested and the result was negative.

Best case scenario: Cornet plays picks up another knock in the 90th minute (after scoring the winner). Knock is enough to put him out of the IC squad but recovers sooner than he would have been back from AFCON.

This is why we should play him, if he pulls up, then they will call up a replacement and he won't go.

Current position makes no difference but rightly so you can’t refuse it.

On the down side,if he's not fully fit and plays,he might do himself a serious injury and be out the whole season.Better to have him fully fit IMO.

Unless he is still suffering I would play him for 60 minutes or more. Should he aggravate his injury then hopefully he wont need to travel to the ANC. Our luck-he misses both our league games as SD plays cautious, then plays for his country and comes back with either an aggravation of his thigh or comes back with a fresh injury. Its happened countless times for Burnley.

As a decent football club we should neither:
Play any player who is not 100% fit (injury or illness)
Hold back any player's international aspirations.

While I agree that those wanting him to stay are ridiculous, he was almost fit before he got covid, surely they could have “tested” him by now!

Who said SD was "moaning" ?!! He was simply pointing out an illogicality in the protocols. I dont think it was a major focus of his press conference.

I Wouldn't be adverse to avoiding the next 2 fixtures if possible.

Can’t see Cornet getting more than 15mins ,as the Leeds game is what we need him for rather than a free hit game vs Man Utd .

Considering how Man Utd are playing I’d suggest it’s more than a free hit.

You’re right , it’s certainly less of one than a regular big 6 game . Though SD is the ultimate pragmatist.

I don’t get with this free hit thing, especially for this game. Stats on BBC site reminded me again of what a decent PL record we have at OT. We have got at least a point on 4 of our last 5 visits there. This is one of the least fearful away games we actually have. On top of that United are not playing too well just now.

Steady on now. I know we've played quite well at Old Trafford but don't you think it's a bit far fetched to think we can score five when we've been struggling to score in other matches?
