Connor Roberts
Great news today that he is on the recovery-almost the "forgotton man" in our squad. On the basis that when we were up against it in terms of players available v Man Utd and SD was prepared to play Lennon in the No 10 role as according to SD "he tells me he has played there before". Is there anyone keen, when he is fully fit, that we play Roberts in the wide right role instead of JBG. Before people jump at me he HAS played this role at Swansea. Quite frankly JBG has had a significant run in the team and has generally been poor all season . I cannot remember an assist this season, or a scintillating run by JBG-remember we are without Cornet for a month .We know Roberts has a good cross on him, plus high energy levels It would also mean Dwight can stay wide left where he is best

Id like to see it, if only to put a rocket up JBG.
If we sign a number 10 then it could mean Dwight and JBG both benched, which based on recent form I don't think either could complain at.

Potentially. Might sort us out defensively a bit and can’t do much less than JBG recently, although I do like JBG.

I like any player that puts on a Burnley shirt, but some do frustrate me. And recently JBG has been in this camp for meIloveyoubrady wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 7:25 pmPotentially. Might sort us out defensively a bit and can’t do much less than JBG recently, although I do like JBG.

Unless we sign a CM I’m not sure it will matter who we play on the wings to be honest.
Why not try it against Huddersfield, it’s a good game to experiment. If it works against them it could potentially work in the league.

Re: Connor Roberts
That’s what I thought but someone early said he’s in 16 fit players listed for the game.

Re: Connor Roberts
When he's fit I want to see him playing together with Collins. We need players committed to the cause, too many treading water knowing they are free agents in less than 6 months. Something needs to change.

Re: Connor Roberts
Roberts has to be given his opportunity when fit, either at RB, or indeed RM, he can hardly perform any worse than JBG, and he's shown for Wales that he's capable of assisting and scoring, and we'll need all the goals we can to survive this season.
If nothing else he'll at least add some energy to our play, which we've been sorely lacking this season.

Fitness may be a while, according to what is described as a bad dose of Covid. Sounds like he must have been jabless!

Re: Connor Roberts
We've all seen the photo of Connor Roberts on the hospital trolley. Let's give the guy the chance to get over whatever it was that put him there. It won't help him to "seize the opportunity to make the shirt his own" if his thrown in when he's not fully fit and ready.
