Re: ARSENAL V CLARETS
They're on top now but we're defending well. Their main focal point has been Martinelli but Roberts has done well.
When we get the ball, we've played some decent football.

Re: ARSENAL V CLARETS
Brownhill yellow. Misses Watford game now. Took their player out to stop the break. Both central midfielders on yellows already.
Westwood lucky not to get sent off, he needs to watch it.

Re: ARSENAL V CLARETS
We’re due a red card today I think
Re: ARSENAL V CLARETS
Westwood absolutely brainless again. Get Cork on now else we’ll be starting Dale Stephens in the biggest match of our season.

Re: ARSENAL V CLARETS
Gotta get Westwood off for Cork if there is a goal either way.
Losing both midfielders for Watford would be a disaster.

Re: ARSENAL V CLARETS
Stephens can't be any worse than what Cork has offered this season.

We battle after a free kick. McNeil has a shot well wide. Our pressing has been very good.

Re: ARSENAL V CLARETS
Think Dwight needs to check his studs!
Re: ARSENAL V CLARETS
are people really having a go at Westwood for a slightly mistimed tackle that he pulled away from...?
We're doing OK again today, I feel we can get something out of this game

Ref stopped play for nothing when we had an advantage.

Re: ARSENAL V CLARETS
Don’t like Roberts laying it across the back like that!!!
Re: ARSENAL V CLARETS
Much more ‘like it’ so far. Rodriguez / Vydra provide much better outlets than Wood. Defensively been solid too.

Re: ARSENAL V CLARETS
I think Roberts has had a decent half but why the hell was he almost 50 yards out of position there?

Half time.
Not bad at all that, in the context of the season.

Brilliant first half performance all around. Roberts looks everything we expected when we signed him.

Nick had that covered.
God stuff. Some great defending.
Lots of effort.
Looked more like us today.

Tried to press higher but they managed to play around it. But yeah he’s been good so far.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 2:48 pmI think Roberts has had a decent half but why the hell was he almost 50 yards out of position there?

Re: ARSENAL V CLARETS
Arsenal getting frustrated which is good. Westwood and Brownhill need to be careful. One more mistimed challenge by either will be a red. Much better performance than of late but surely Arsenal will pick up the pace. So far so good

A decent 1st half with plenty of effort . Slightly worried about both our centre midfielders on a booking.

Re: ARSENAL V CLARETS
Both Roberts and Brownhill mark and take up position incredibly well. Their ability to read the game is really good. The chance for Arsenal at the end was caused by Vydra straying into an off side position so Roberts had to compensate - he then couldn't get back into position and Arsenal should have capitalised.

Good battling effort. Think we need to get tighter on Martinelli though. Need someone covering for Roberts when he goes up the field as well

We've done fine, stuck at it, plenty of desire but you're scraping the barrel if you're expecting that shot to be on a highlight reel, did it go out for a throw in?Taffy on the wing wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 2:55 pmThey just showed the 1st half highlights......we didn't do anything except foul apparently.

Sensational I agree until he finds himself with the ball.
Re: ARSENAL V CLARETS
Park the bus get a point move on let's not get too greedy.
Re: ARSENAL V CLARETS
. I’ve been frustrated that we have looked like we have no plan in recent games. That can’t be said today first half. It might not please the neutral or freeing flowing football fans but I don’t care, that was much more like Dyche Burnley. Utc
