Where is the money coming from if we are trying to sign players of his level?
United to loan him to a club that poses no risk to them, and help relegate Newcastle who would undoubtedly be an immediate Top 6 challenger next season?
It makes sense….I’m just saying.

As long as he doesn’t get injured, he’s still going to be available for Watford if he plays that game so it’s no big deal if it’s all done I guess?
A bit of a risk isn’t it heading into the final day of the window.

I think it’s just agent talk with reference to Lingard, trying to panic Newcastle into stumping up ridiculous money.

There could be an argument that the 12 million bonus for Lingard was Newcastle only. Plus they will be a big threat to the top teams next season if they stay up. It would be in Utd's interest to loan him to us over Newcastle

The Lingard loan fee was £3.5m, with a £12m bonus if Newcastle survived relegation.

Samuel Luckhurst from the MEN says we’re in for Lingard…
Sure I read an article a few months back which said how involved he was with his family and looking after his younger siblings. Could be something in staying local, putting himself in the window for a few months before his big move in the summer?

More from the Athletic
- Weghorst "a very active situation"
- Orsic "they want him for the big game, so more likely to happen on Monday"

Why all this crap about Newcastle challenging the top 6 next season?
Not with Eddie in charge. I doubt they’ll stay up, in fact with Woy going in at Watford I’d be more concerned that we need another club to go into freefall.

Apparently Dynamo want Orsic to play on Sunday in their big 1st v 2nd game so that’s what’s holding it up…
That’s just plain stupid. If he’s coming, he’s coming. He doesn’t need to play in that game. It leaves very little time for him to fly over here and sign on the 31st, my birthday incidentally.

If true, likely to cost us the deal. Longer it goes before we sign him and the closer to the end of the window the more llikely a competitor will come in and gazump us.

I haven't read all the previous posts, so if this has already been mentioned, I'm sorry.
Hammers News is reporting our interest in Weghorst and saying it would be a coup for us to get him, as Moyes has also shown interest previously.

Having watched the compulsory video of Weghorst I couldn't help but notice that he stayed onside on at least one occasion, which is always a bonus.

Both Orsic & Weghorst would represent clever signings. Their ages mean many clubs would probably overlook them in preference for a younger more up and coming type with potential re-sale value rather than a player who's physically/technically not going to improve much. In similar mould to Defour whose big move never came, we are providing them an opportunity they might never be offered again, to play in the EPL and probably earn more cash than they are currently on.
From our point of view, we get 2 experienced players, proven themselves at their respective levels previously, who can immediately provide something to the first team. I like it.

Athletic reporting we are confident of completing a deal with Wolfsburg for Weghorst. Bid made and negotiating personal terms. Also that there are few complications with Orsic regarding agreeing the fee with Dinamo but the player has said his goodbyes to staff there and wants the move.
Reading between the lines, it can only be that they want the cash in one go, but we want instalments. Considering it's only a reported 7 million, it would be pretty sad if we can't afford to stump up that amount, especially after Chris Wood has gone.

Great prospect but we can’t afford that sort of money for prospects.

The 'big 6' see Newcastle as a serious threat to their positions so I can imagine will squeeze them for everything they've got over any transfers to help.

"Weg" means "road" (or "way") in Dutch. "Horst" is the name of a village in the Netherlands. So, we could translate "Weghorst" as the "Highway to Horst."
"Work" is "werk" in Dutch. "Horse" is "paard."

Why do fans always put our club down. If Brentford can afford 18m so can we. They get the same money as we do.
