Reasons to be Positive

Post by Devils_Advocate » Sat Mar 12, 2022 6:07 pm

A lot of negativity on here this evening but there are always positives to take from any bad situation so lets hear them from you. I think for me there is one big positive that stands out especially after todays performance which is....

Apart from Pope and Tarks I cant see any of our players being wanted by any Premier League or promotion chasing Championship clubs and so we should have a half decent team next year and a chance of getting promoted

Still a win away from getting out of the bottom three

I know its the night after a defeat, and that is always the wrong time to post anything vaguely positive, but that is the reality

3 weeks till we play another game meaning should Dyche leave tomorrow and we hire someone new, plenty of time to get the lads up to speed in training with new tactics etc.

So a positive is that next year's squad will be centred around the likes of Westwood, Long, JBG, Lowton and maybe Barnes and Cork

Happy days :D

If McNeil hadn’t closed his eyes when heading (or had a right foot to volley) Cornet scored or Jays been an inch lower… we would have won!!!

To not score 1 goal and not get a win against teams like Brentford, Norwich, Watford and Newcastle is really poor. They used to be our bread and butter. And I think there IS the talent in the squad to do so but clearly a stubbornness and reluctance to change things from the manager.

To add a more genuine positive to this thread - Blackburn rovers lost 1-0 at home in the 92nd minute to a poor Bristol City side who hadn’t kept a clean sheet for 17 matches. Looks like they will bottle it.

Yep one main positive for me , and I am confident it is a mantra that will be repeated tomorrow, and is our main hope for finishing out of the bottom 3

For most of that game we were in 17th, thanks to just a solitary point.
That's how close it is and we still have games in hand.

Well, it's now a 10 game season. Ignore the City game as we will lose that one. 4 wins and a couple of draws needed. The gap between fixtures gives all concerned at the club (players, board, staff) the chance to take stock of everything and work out what is required to stay in this league.

I was at the game. Travelled with a friend who is a Brentford ST holder.

Positives:
1) My friend paid for lunch. It's my turn another time, maybe at the end if the season when we are both preparing for next season in the Premier League;
2) Collins got red card, so we've got rid of the "no red card" record;
3) Next game City, 2nd April, Ben Mee time to get fit, plus not a game we expect points, so best one for Collins to be suspended.
4) Ticked off new stadium. Looking forward to going again next season.

I think it stands to reason that teams at the bottom play poorly and performances generally aren't good, otherwise they wouldn't be where they are.

The obvious positive is that we get 4 extra games for the same price and we will have more "normal" KO times.

Yes there's a long way to go yet and they'll be plenty of twists and turns. Hopefully SD can find a few and make us less predictable, like when we played Spurs.

For all the bed wetting and ratings of 3 for some of our players we really weren’t that bad yesterday. We were the better team for most of the match without really looking like scoring or conceding. With our best eleven on the pitch we will stay up.
