Well he wouldn't be, but Jacko has been vindicated by the result
Take it like a man and move on for the good of your mates and be happy for the fans and the club in general.
Don't spoil what you've got.

He ought to have been absolutely delighted at the final whistle, and if he wasn't I'm questioning whether he's a team player.

It’s ok to be upset about being subbed , but he showed complete disrespect to Jackson and his teammates.

One thing you can’t fault with Jackson (not that there’s anything so far) is his substitution choices
Everyone of them he’s made so far, both in personnel and timing has been spot on

Didn't even celebrate the goals when they went in.....massive clown.
Re: WEGHORST
We started playing football and crossing the ball when he went off, strange how it worked out but it did.
Re: WEGHORST
Let's hope the other players have put him right back in his box in the dressing room.

Massive hissy fit. Shook his head slumped on the bench for for the entire half hour that he was off. Didn't celebrate with the others at all. Perhaps Newcastle would like him to replace Wood.

Re: WEGHORST
Acted a bit of a **** really. If he was banging them in then he would be right to act that way, but he’s got 2 in 16? We didn’t look like scoring till he went off which says a lot. I would hope he apologises to his manager and gets on with his job against Villa, I’m sure he will do.
Jackson showed he’s got the balls for the big calls, good on him. It made a few scratch their heads, but he was fully vindicated.

No reason to make anything of a disappointed reaction when being subbed, but if he did behave the way is described above he needs his head sorted out.

It’s a team game and right now it’s all about results. Don’t be a prick and throw your toys out of the pram at this stage, the decision turned out to be absolutely vindicated in the end.

Re: WEGHORST
Spar a bit of praise for Alan Pace; it could be argued that his timing was perhaps a week or so late, but his choice seems to have worked out well.
Re: WEGHORST
He had a bit of a reputation near the end at Wolfsburg for being a bit of a sulker when things didn’t go his way.
But, in fairness, he’s not lacking in effort here. He is averaging the most pressures per 90 minutes in the entire PL this season.
Didn’t come off for him today at all but thought he was decent in the last few.

He'll be alright. He was disappointed but he looks like a top pro and he'll come back stronger
Things didn't work out for him today. Ironically as soon as he goes off Roberts puts in the perfect ball for him but there it is. Excellent decision by Jackson to make the change when he did - won us the game

Re: WEGHORST
This. He was pretty awful for most of the game until subbed.
I still can't decide on him. He clearly has a good touch but struggles to keep the ball under pressure and clearly is still getting to grips with the pace and physicality of the Premier League.
I can't see him being at all prolific at all but if he can weigh in with assists that will hopefully open others to score.

Re: WEGHORST
No problem with players not wanting to be subbed, but if it’s true he didn’t celebrate the goals he needs a good talking to. Does he want to play in the PL next season or not? No room for selfish players at our club.

Re: WEGHORST
I'm glad he wasn't happy at being subbed. That shows his desire to play. Watford had a better game plan which stopped us playing the the middle to him.
Credit to Jackson for shaking it up and playing more direct which loosened Watfords grip on midfield.
He will be celebrating tonight when he has stopped sulking.

Re: WEGHORST
Well a change was needed. MJ made a ballsy choice. We won. I hope Wout calms down and apologises to MJ and his teammates. Saw it on the pitch once and he has a bit of history. I’m sure MJ can ‘manage it’. I don’t think it will split the dressing room but needs keeping an eye on. Barnes got more valuable minutes. We move on to the next game, much stronger.

Re: WEGHORST
Me neither. I don't think he's suited to football in England played with such physicality, intensity, and speed. He's clearly got bags of ability with the ball but my gut tells me he's more suited to the slower style of football on the continent, although I accept the Bundesliga is a bit more like the PL than other European leagues. I definitely agree he won't ever be a prolific scorer over here.BabylonClaret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 6:08 pmThis. He was pretty awful for most of the game until subbed.

After the Wolves game I was full of praise for his attitude though which is why his behaviour today is so disappointing.

Re: WEGHORST
I feel for the lad, but there is a bigger picture.
I don't think Wout was the problem, I said at half time Lennon and Dwight needed to swap wings, and it worked a treat.
Hopefully time will cool him down and he can celebrate the fact that we MAY be playing in the Prem again next season.

Re: WEGHORST
He wasnt off his feet when we scored, but he leant over his chair to look at the laptop on the chair in front of him. So was obvs watching the goal again. So what he is a sulker? He has proved with all his running he is a team player. He is a winner and as a striker wants to be the one scoring the goals to be the hero. Sadly that isnt happening at the moment. I am sure after some celebrations and a few light hearted comments from other players will bring him out of his mood.

Re: WEGHORST
Was obviously disappointed to see his number on the board but that may have been disappointment in his own performance. He didn't look happy but nor did he express his unhappiness in any sort of deliberate gesture.
Jackson trying to level with him at the end and he didn't seem to embrace the sentiment but based on my own experience of playing sports at a reasonably high level I don't want my team mates or management patronising me when things didn't go well. I hated it actually.
Might show a questionable character but may be a sign of his desire to be better.
The most interesting thing about such a situation (if there is a situation) is to see how Jackson manages it. This is exactly how/where he needs to prove his credentials if there's any thoughts of keeping him in a management roll after this season.

Why are we looking for something to complain about?
He's a very good player. We're not playing entirely to his strengths. No wonder he's not happy. Keep it all in perspective.
Enjoy the evening. We can watch MOTD and be safe in the knowledge it all comes good after an awful 1st half.
