West Ham raid
Just read they may be in for Cornet, Brownhill and Mee. And possibly even McNeil.

Re: West Ham raid
I like Brownhill for his effort, and I think he’ll be a standout in the Championship but he isn’t anywhere near good enough for West Ham, nor would he ever be.
I’d not like to sell but if they were going to give a ridiculous figure then I’d not be upset.

Re: West Ham raid
Sell Cornet definitely, but Brownhill is someone I'd like to keep. I think he'd be the sort of player and character who we'd need for a slog in the Championship.

Re: West Ham raid
Cornet has that release clause.
Brownhill should go for similar money
Mee is OOC
McNeil - that's the bigger fee

To be fair those players are to good for the Championship...I'd hope they would all have stayed but you can't blame them for wanting to play in the top league,we can start with a fresh slate with Kompany and I really can't wait to see our new look team......I think we are in for a roller coaster of a ride this coming season...In Kompany we trust...Exciting times indeedAwayClaret wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 12:30 pmJust read they may be in for Cornet, Brownhill and Mee. Re: West Ham raid
McNeil - 25m+ seen as though there’s plenty of interest apparently.
Brownhill - genuinely can’t see Moyes wanting him
Cornet - release clause, would be a good signing for them, also seen they want Sarr and Dennis

Who knows whether it’ll turn out to be exciting or not, but it’ll give us all something to talk about.

Who made you the conscience of this board? If you have nothing constructive to say wny not keep quiet.
You have quite a lot to say about other posters and their posts. Has the fact that it is a message board passed you by?

Not always playing our best players , or to their strengthsboatshed bill wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 12:40 pmit makes me wonder:

Poor approach/ tactics
Unable to adapt to the opposition changes
Unable to adapt styles , approach formation when infront / behind
Some players not playing for the manager
Not enough quality on the bench
Some players not giving 100%, a 100% of the time
Some terrible misses
Some poor decisions by officials

Re: West Ham raid
I'll be surprised if they snap up all 4, but Cornet and Mee I could see Moyes being interested in, Cornet has a release clause, and Ben is an experienced PL defender available on a free.
I'd hope we'd retain Brownhill and McNeil as both will be important players for us in the Championship, although obviously if silly bids come in for one or both we'd have to give them due consideration.

Re: West Ham raid
West ham always put in silly bids. It'll be 2 million for brownhill and 5 million for the others just to try and unsettle and make the people concerned show their cards.
For better players they offer to take them on loan when it is obvious that the club they pitch to doesn’t want a loan at all. It wouldn't surprise me if they offered to take at least one of them on loan with an option to buy for peanuts if we don't go up.

Well if we'd not been hung out to dry by Garlick and had all the life dragged out of our players by Dyche, we wouldn't be in this situation now would we.

The majority of the first 12-13 players in the pecking order last season have now been linked with moves.
It’s almost like nobody watched any of our games or even glanced at the league table.

Being linked with moves is one thing, however let's wait and see what happens in this window before assessing.agreenwood wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 2:48 pmThe majority of the first 12-13 players in the pecking order last season have now been linked with moves.

Re: West Ham raid
We sign players from clubs that we can afford to pay bigger wages to, players leave us for wages we cannot afford, it is the way of things.
Re: West Ham raid
I'd sell Mcneil and Brownhill to West Ham and try keep hold of Cornet (if that release clause isn't true and if he's prepared to stay for a year)
Re: West Ham raid
Brownhill wouldn’t last two minutes at West Ham. Their fans would be on his back within a month.

Parasitic agents are the curse of football, even worse than greedy directors
Their role is to line their own pockets and unsettle players with fantasy promises.

It could be the case that the life was dragged out of Dyche when he wasnt given sufficient funds to buy some decent players. Perhaps he should have left the club then for his own good.tarkys_ears wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 2:44 pmWell if we'd not been hung out to dry by Garlick and had all the life dragged out of our players by Dyche, we wouldn't be in this situation now would we.

The trouble with relegation is that this sort of risk is going to be around us for any of our players until the window closes and again in January.

Re: West Ham raid
True, although recently we've come away from that, and lost too many for nothing.
Hopefully that will change going forward for the good of the long-term future of the club, although it's never nice to sell one your best players at the time.
