McNeil to Everton is one i've been told today. Sources can't be revealed but it's apparently reliable. We'll see...
Really weird that nearly the exact minute you posted that my friend text me the same thing.

I can't see McNeil ending up there. Plays the same position as Anthony Gordon.
They've also got Demari Gray, Andros Townsend, and Alex Iwobi.
I think they wanted Cornet to play in a LWB role, but McNeil would get murdered playing there week-in week-out.

Everton are skint all things considered so that would not be good for us. Can’t see them paying what he’s worth.

West Ham boss David Moyes wants Maxwel Cornet and is willing to pay £20 million for him.
Hammers chief Moyes has cash to spend and has turned his sights to landing quick and skillful Cornet.
Burnley are willing to sell Cornet if the deal is right but have turned down Everton’s loan to buy option while Fulham and Nottingham Forest stall.
Moyes knows he will have to top other offers tabled and is keen on a quick deal.
Cornet had a fixed fee in his contract if Burnley went down but that has now been over ruled because it came out in public.
Burnley are adamant that they want more and now Hammers are in discussions to find what fee works for them.

Weirdly I can see him fitting in there. He could play the Mount role that Lampard liked at Derby. Not sure any of them listed suit that role

Really interesting if the clause expired due to a confidentiality breach.

Not sure if this has already been posted but I have been told from someone who attended the Q&A at Burnley College yesterday, Kompany and Pace both said we needed 14-15 players coming - we have only added 8 so far. VK wouldn't comment on where in the squad needs strengthening still but I think we can all work that out...

Cornet to West Ham makes sense. Always said they were the best fit for him style wise, similar to Bowen in some ways but from the left.

Why would Lampard sign a player to play number 10, who has never played as a number 10?
Makes zero sense whatsoever.
Also, Anthony Gordon is literally Everton's number 10. He's got squad number for this season.
Seems a strange deal all around.
I think if we let both McNeil and Cornet go then it's curtains for the top 6 this season, personally.

Can Everton afford McNeil? 15-20m? Not sure they can unless they sell Gordon.

He's buying him as a LWB. Moyes tried signing kostic but it seems that has fell through who also plays the LW LWB position. Going off what I've heard he's looking to play a back 5 this season.

Cornet would be a terrible LWB in the Premier League IMO

Can't be that much of a surprise, McNeil as well as Cornet seemed highly unlikely to play in the championship

Would you let McNeil go if you knew you was going to get Ohare and Benson in return? Hypothetically.

So probably no Cornet and Mcneil with Twine and JBG also injured for our first game - should be fun...

McNeil is the best midfielder in that league.

Suddenly looking like a transitional season rather than having a good go at it.

He is good, but still too 1 footed for me, and like in the Premier League I am sure the opposition would just show him the inside on to his right to combat him. However I do agree he would be a lot more successful in the Championship

I really don’t want us to sell Dwight.
But if we do- I’ll be very unhappy if it’s for less than £25m.
Hope we’ll be applying a Coventry style stance to the fee for him given what it will cost us to try and replace him.
Surely Dwight doesn’t have a release clause in his contract?

We need to get deals done for McNeil and Cornet asap. They were always going to leave if there was Premier League interest and I don’t think either of them would set the world alight in the championship anyway. Hopefully, this will allow us to push through deals for players that Kompany wants.

I like Dwight and would much prefer him to stay. But wasn't it zero goals and one assist last season (and plenty of below par performances)? What would you think if we were linked with a player for £20m+ after a season like that?

If they want to go, then let them go, naturally as long as we receive decent fees for both to allow VK to reinvest in the squad.
That's life after relegation I'm afraid tough as it maybe to see our squad broken up.
One possible advantage of a lot of last seasons squad moving on is we might not suffer a relegation hangover as many clubs can do.

Hennessey, Collins, Pope, Weghorst all wanted to leave so they were sold/loaned. I’d imagine McNeil and Cornet both want to leave. I find it hard to believe people actually thought there was a chance they’d be staying.

I think Dwight would be a sore loss for this coming season in the Championship, although if we reinvest well immediately in a like for like replacement we can't really complain. He didn't have the best season last season. I for one would much rather keep Cornet than Dwight if we had to pick one of the two. Sadly I fear they'll both be leaving us.

I know I’m in a minority of 1 but I would be happy to get a few for McNeil and reinvest it. Maybe he will come good but a player with so little impact for a whole season is not a premier league quality player. If we get anything around 15m it would be a good deal.
