Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Bigger squad to change things up when things aren’t going our way, injuries and suspensions stack up, and lack of form - that would be my answer to “where these players fit” .
For me a striker or two , and two thag can play the attacking mid roles would be good. He clearly wants a centre half too so that would make 5 .
Possibly allowing a few to go out on loan, getting vital experience.
Delap would be incredible if we play like that all season. He’s a proper finisher

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
They’ve just had £40m knocked back for Maddison , if they really want Maxwel then they should cough up. They are hardly short of brass
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Not for the first time it seems that Cornet's release clause is predicated on it being in one payment. That's a good thing because it obviously gives us a some leverage to negotiate with clubs that wishes to stage payments. It appears both Everton and Newcastle are in the same boat due to FFP. Feels like only a matter of time before Cornet leaves though.RVclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 1:21 pmhttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footb ... squad.html
Cornet to Newcastle?
Sounds like they are keen but don’t want the pay the 17.5m clause in one go.
Therefore we are asking for 25m over a longer period.

Yeah, surely one of Ev, West Ham or Newc are just going to bite the bullet on this one, with the PL kicking off next week.taio wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 1:25 pmNot for the first time it seems that Cornet's release clause is predicated on it being in one payment. Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
We are looking to ship out Long... How many games have you seen Thomas play at club level?... more like a development payer! CJ by his own admission is more of a utility back, not a dedicated CB, which is pretty obvious anyway with his build size and Mcnally is wet behind the ears at this level and could take a few seasons to adjust... Why do you think we played Charlie Taylor out of position?... We definitely need a CB, especially a left-sided one that has experience at this level or above! We had 4 central defenders in reserve (Long, Thomas, CJ, Mcnally), how many central defenders does a team need?
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I don't think we played Taylor out of position, I think that's the position Kompany sees Taylor playing long term to accommodate Maatsen.BigChaCha wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 1:59 pmWe are looking to ship out Long... Konrad de la Fuente can return to the League, on loan. Valladolid, very interested in him. Today it is the best placed team. There are other possibilities, like Anderlecht, Burnley, Sassuolo and Sampdoria. There is no definitive decision, but it is in the market.

In what parallel universe would a decent Championship team have turned us over?

Top Claret only drinks men’s ale, for real men. That’s how he knows his opinions on the quality of Huddersfield are the only correct ones - because he’s a ruddy bloke.Top Claret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 2:11 pmYou want to stick to ladies ale next time you travel to Yorkshire if you think that Huddersfield shower were a decent championship team, they were shote

Just done this for the first time. Main observation is that there’s a load of City fans wanting Delap/McAtee to come here… but weirdly also a load of United fans saying they should loan Elanga to us! YES PLEASE!

Think this is the guy Nori was saying:
Darko Churlinov
Some tenuous link that we’ve made a 2.5m bid.

Rumour amongst Cov fans that O’Hare has done his hammy and out for a while
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Or is it a "hammy" ?
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Or is it just an excuse as to why he isn’t playing. I remember someone’s big toe.

SD said a long while ago that Charlie could play CB. I can put up with that to see a two footed LB.

Doesn’t sound like an attractive move from him or Man City, unless he’s got a soft spot for them due to his dad’s connection.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Ive seen a few Chelsea fans on twitter allude to us having an option to buy on Maatsen, does anyone know the truth of it?

His dad is a first team coach there too.agreenwood wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 4:29 pmDoesn’t sound like an attractive move from him or Man City, unless he’s got a soft spot for them due to his dad’s connection.
Would be an odd move though and you’d think City would much rather him here than there.

Really thought Delap would have been perfect for us. His dad must be pulling some strings on this one for Stoke. Bit of a waste because Stoke will be nowhere this season.

Don’t understand why we wouldn’t be interested or less favoured than stoke. But the Athletic did say he wasn’t a target for us

As did Nixon, so the two outlets who get most right for us agreeFather Jack wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 4:59 pmDon’t understand why we wouldn’t be interested or less favoured than stoke. But the Athletic did say he wasn’t a target for us
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I can only imagine we’ve got a striker lined up and imminent if we are letting Stoke get Delap / we aren’t in for him. That just seemed a no brainer from all angles didn’t it?

Can't help thinking there is a big outgoing (other than Max) and a huge incoming yet. Not price wise but impact wise in the striker department.

I suppose a striker loan not ideal anyway. Jay’s already 33 and Barnes gets there soon. A striker on loan just kicks the problem down the road.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I think it’s clear if we wanted Delap, he would have been ours. The fact he’s not coming here is clearly showing Vinny has a prime target in mind that we aren’t aware of.
I’m expecting a Vitinho style ‘out of nowhere’ striker appearing in the next few days.
