This seasons goals (ours), to date
All our goals so far this season, a wonderful waste of 13 or 14 minutes. Hope the link works

Not one scrappy or fluke goal.
Everyone was a quality move or strike. Excellent stuff.

Be interesting to compare the ratio of open play to set piece goals with some previous seasons…..
Re: This seasons goals (ours), to date
Some lovely goals.
The Zaroury at Sunderland and Benson at home to Rotherham stand out, though I also loved the 2nd (28 passes) at home to Millwall, and Roberts goal against Stoke - both crisp, incisive moves where our patient passing was eventually rewarded.

Think Barnes’ 3rd against Rovers is our best so far…

Isn't that a symptom of equine flu?ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 1:45 amAn absolute Clarets landmark of a goal. It'll be talked about for years.
Rovers fans are still frothing at the mouth about it.

What stands out is Brownhill’s involvement in a high number of these goals. The most underestimated player in the squad who was badly missed at SheffU.

It isn't. I am on Cloud 9 at what is happening this season. We've even worked out very quickly, how to sort teams out who set up negatively against us. The football has been amazing. UTC.

Re: This seasons goals (ours), to date
As has been said there are some absolutely brilliant goals on display. My favourites, in ascending order, would be
- Brownhill's first with Wigan..for that brilliant nutmeg and cross by Vitinho
- Zaroury v Sunderland...beautiful, effortless curler into the side netting
- Benson v Rotherham..fantastic solo run and finish
- Tella v Coventry....Bergkampesque control and superb delicate finish
- Our third v Rovers..the more you watch the move, and Barnes finish, the better it gets
- The completely legendary first v Rovers....Zaroury's cross a thing of beauty, brilliant downward and directed header from Barnes and then the cherry on top with the shove on their keeper

Re: This seasons goals (ours), to date
I was sat in the home end with a couple of Mackem mates of mine, took the lauding and hair rub when their 2nd went in.
Given the grief I got after standing and celebrating our 1st, by the time our 3rd hit the back of the net, it was unsafe to do anything other than politely applause. They'd all disappeared by 4-2, I made my mate stay until the final whistle.

Brownhill has been the fantastic player we bought from Brentford.IWOODLOVETT wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 11:19 amWhat stands out is Brownhill’s involvement in a high number of these goals. The most underestimated player in the squad who was badly missed at SheffU.
Strangely, it's the players that have left that would have struggled the most to adapt to the VK way of playing, except for that bloke we sold to West ham.
