How are you passing the footy free weekend
So no BFC games for nearly a month now, I'll be heading out into the city soon to pick up some early Christmas shopping before the hordes descend, then tomorrow I'll do some household chores before catching a couple of movies.
What plans do others have to fill the footy void? or at least the BFC void, as of course there is lower league action aplenty.

Had a few beers last night after work so a day lying on the sofa for me ready for football (League One and Two) later and then to watch qualifying for Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and saying farewell to the great Seb Vettel.

Re: How are you passing the footy free weekend
Yeah mainly rugby Internationals today for me too as I think most (if not all) the games are on Amazon Prime TV which I have access to courtesy of a family member. Italy v S Africa and Wales v Georgia at 13.00; Scots v Argies at 15.15 then the big games Eng v NZ 17.30, Ireland v Oz 20.00.
Might give the Scotland game a miss to go to the local footy - Isthmian League Basingstoke v Tooting & Mitcham (well known cup giant killers when I was a lad)- but could be too attached to the armchair in front of the TV by then. Some Ascot racing n TV as well if there's time to watch between the rugby.

Re: How are you passing the footy free weekend
Nice sunny day so I'll be in the garden all day. Lots of autumn clearing to do and then it'll be watching England vs All Blacks. My son in law is going down for the game and I hope he's a lot happier with the result than he was last week watching his beloved Rovers lose to the Clarets.

Important victories for Accy, Barnsley, Bristol Rovers & Cheltenham and a gap starting to open up in L1 at the top and bottom of the division.
Re: How are you passing the footy free weekend
Been to Barley today along with thousands of others, paid my first visit to the Pendle Inn and had lunch in the conservatory, the Daddy of beers was on tap, Moorhouse's Pendle Witches accompanied by a cracking Turkey dinner.
What a lovely welcoming place it is, the Tour of Pendle road race was on today, so lots of visitors and fantastic to see the locals offering their driveways to the day trippers, this is what makes Barley special.

I didn't go but Colne gave a good account of themselves in the FA Trophy by all accounts, got beat 2-1 at Fylde, who are in the Conference North.

I walked up Whernside yesterday. First time I've hiked solo as I missed the group I should have walked with, turns out I was in front of them all the way round. Anyway, I found it really therapeutic and although I'd rather have company I shall definitely be walking solo again.

No phone signal there until you start the long path to the top. Arranged to meet a friend near the butty van, no sign of him, we walked up and down for 30mins and set off...his satnav took him to Great Whernsidegroove wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 9:07 amI walked up Whernside yesterday.
