Horrendous passing as well.
Not the only one, but it's as poir a performance as he could give.

Re: Muric
It will certainly be interesting who is in goal at Luton. Muric has been outstanding recently but that was a really bad error, I just don’t get why he didn’t try to catch it.
If he’s not injured (and I’m dubious due to the circumstances) then that’s a Hell of a ruthless/big call that Vinny made tonight. Perhaps he thinks Muric’s game and his distribution just wasn’t suitable for this opposition?

More worried about Beyers injury than Muric's, if indeed he's hurt.

I don't think our winning mentality manager sees it that way.
Thankfully he wants to win unlike most of the "at least we had a good go" lot on here

Poor error tonight, I could see it coming too, he was clearly not at it from the start, every time he got the ball he gave it away. Every keeper in the world makes a mistake now and again, that was his first in months, he can be forgiven for a bad day at the office.

Imagine the furore on here if that had have been Lee Grant who'd dropped a clanger like that.
For some reason Muric gets a free pass because he uses his feet a lot. Personally I'd like him to do the basics right.

That's the second time Muric has dropped a bollock in a game then feigned injury and come off but played the next game....he's not a goalkeeper just a guy who can pass the ball,he will be found out for what he is in the Premier league,a very very poor goalkeeperKRBFC wrote: ↑Tue Feb 14, 2023 10:30 pmHe was injured.

Re: Muric
how do we know if he cried off? it's equally valid conjecture to suggest he told VK that his head isn't right after that mistake, and VK has said "in that case you're pulled"

Re: Muric
Knew these sorts of comments would be all over the messageboard tonight.
Without Muric this season, we aren't top. He's been brilliant for us.
Thirty-one games into the season, but it should take anyone thirty seconds of watching us to know just how key Muric is.
Poor mistake tonight, no doubt, and off it just as the whole team was.

Re: Muric
There’s no denying that Muric has and is a key component in how we play. Saturday was a prime example of that.
Tonight was a prime example of the issues that Muric has in his game. The biggest concern that I have with him long term is that in the Premier League it will be the keeping goal elements of his game that will be tested most of all.
He must improve his keeping if he’s to make a go of it at the higher level. The truly great side of his game will fast be forgotten if he can’t keep his wits about him, eradicate some of the silly errors and really get to grips with owning and controlling his area.
In his defence, most games he’s rarely if ever tested which is a bit of a double whammy, it doesn’t give him much opportunity to develop that side of his game and it means that errors stand out more.

Re: Muric
Possibly believed his own hype and threw in a performance to forget tonight. The error leading to goal was poor but his distribution was abysmal. Might be the making of him longer term though.
Re: Muric
Lunatic. I love it, but he's a lunatic. It's hilarious. It's also a problem, but it's hilarious, and he's a lunatic, and I still love it. Everyone else can think what they want, obviously, but I'm just going to accept that he'll take off his football boots and put his clown shoes on whenever he feels like it. If that's three or four games a season and the rest sweeper-keeper masterclasses, so be it.

Re: Muric
Be pretty amazed if him being subbed wasn’t down to an injury. Been really good recently though no idea what he was doing for their goal! Even after the initial error he just needed to get back on his line rather than chase the ball.

Re: Muric
He has been superb in this run since the Sheff Utd game, up until the error tonight. Yes he has weaknesses (very, very obvious weaknesses) but it’s become clear that they are worth the risk due to what he offers us. He’s almost giving us eleven outfield players in some games.
Problem tonight was that Watford were a much better team than some who we have faced and we had no control of things really in terms of sustained possession. Muric struggled to get his passing range sorted and they pressed us and him.
Not excusing his error but we need to see the bigger picture with him. Kompany isn’t blind, he knows Muric is pretty bad when it comes to claiming the ball high etc, but he is willing to take that risk for the inherent rewards Muric provides. I see comment on how he would do in the PL (very fair) but that’s a bridge to cross when we get there.

Re: Muric
He honestly didn't look injured. There were no collisions or exertions that looked to cause injury. He just looked like his head wasn't in the right place from kickoff. He'll move on from it like he did after Blackpool and Sheffield where he was poor.

He hasn't made a mistake that's cost us in months and has played a huge part in a side that's won 10 league games in a row, 1 mistake and suddenly you're more active on here than you've been all season.

Re: Muric
Was surprised to see him not come out. The reaction from the fans on the ground was to shrug it off and there wasn't any stick dished out. He made a mistake but he's been fantastic for a good few months now. Hope he's back for Saturday.
Re: Muric
Oh, definitely. Criticism tends to be louder than praise, sad really. He's been excellent for us. You still hear people on games shout "get rid". If those people haven't twigged on to how we (successfully) play yet, I fear they never may.Flying Without Ings wrote: ↑Tue Feb 14, 2023 11:18 pmThat's the fickle nature of this forum I'm afraid. I think he’s been brilliant but very poor today. Why he doesn’t just catch that I’ll never know. One he’ll hopefully learn from.
Massive decision by VK to sun him and the correct decision in my view. We need all players to know that they lose their place if they don’t perform.
Some man management to do now though.

Not seen the game so can’t comment on his performance, but have seen their goal big mistake 100% not sure it is as bad as some people have made out. It put us under pressure I get that but it was defended so poorly after the mistake as well. We all make mistakes though that’s life as they say.

Muric looked like he thought his momentum catching the ball would take him out the box, but completely miss timed the knee, there was still enough time to stop the goal, however it was a mistake, even Heaton and pope made mistakes in their time

Good contrast tonight with Muric who is a poor keeper but has outstanding distribution (normally) and Bachman who is the best keeper in the division but couldn’t kick to save his life.
