Go up to the Loom
Re: Friday night in Burnley
Only problem with the bank parade drinking area is it’s full of postmen in shorts

Caught the last half hour of a band in loom. Much busier and a nice crowd. Enjoyed the night.

Its saturday night out in Burnley for us, I reckon Mrs B last appearance at Burnley was 2001!!
Parking up at 12, lunch somewhere possibly beer huis, then a couple on the way down yorkshire street.
First visit to the Royal Dyche!!
Staying overnight so thinking bank parade then.

Well I had a cracking weekend in burnley, just winding it down with a few pints in the hotel bar and bumped into 4 guys from Plymouth. Opposite ends of the country and none of us with a natural connection to burnley but all massive Clarets. Just been discussing the play off games against Plymouth in 94. Strange world.

Re: Friday night in Burnley
The Bridge and the Bank Parade bars were rather busy before the match.
The Loom didn't seem to cope too well with the numbers.
The area has benefited from the loss of the Church Street pubs. The Talbot was a big space, likewise the White Hart. Not forgetting the Sparrowhawk.
Is the Coach & Horses still open ?

Re: Friday night in Burnley
Really enjoyed having a few beers before the game. What struck me was how much match day adds to the town centre economy.
We got back to room about 9ish and met other match goers staying overnight.
I usually drive in park on towneley and drive out so the transformation of yorkshire st had passed me by.
We ate at Palazzo at 6.30 and it was full of people who attended the game.

It's hardly Russian, nor is it a Tankblatherwickstattoos wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 7:35 pmDefinitely start at the bridge and work your way up to loom and circ bars. Just look for a massive Russian military tank on bank parade
Re: Friday night in Burnley
The coach has been sold to the guy who owns the fried chicken shop next door it's going to be a take away and flats
Re: Friday night in Burnley
