Re: Luton v Sunderland
Taking any sort of lead into the second leg can be huge. Much will depend on how Sunderland’s depleted defence copes with the likely onslaught.

Diallo looks PL ready, spent the entire first 10 mins falling over and exaggerating everything

yeah it's poor, something Howard Webb needs to address in the summer with the clubs, it's ruining the game and needs punishing to a greater level

Just after the goal, when the Sunderland corner was headed out for a throw in, it looked as though Diallo was assaulted by a guy from the crowd as he went for the ball.

Re: Luton v Sunderland
I think of the two of these clubs I’d prefer to be competing against Luton next season. Also would be nice to see a new club in the PL.

Shows how good our football was this season watching this.

I just want to see the premier league try to incorporate Kenilworth Road into their “Greatest League in the World” mantra.

Can’t see a way that Sunderland make it through another hour of this.
Re: Luton v Sunderland
What little bit of football there is on view is being played by Sunderland.
Re: Luton v Sunderland
Sunderland fans must be absolutely bricking it every time Luton get a set piece.

Don’t want Luton up sick of their fans giving it the ‘little old Luton’ on FB pages.

Ale house football. Light years away from the style we have been playing.

Re: Luton v Sunderland
It’s very high energy, front foot, physical football. I’ve been very impressed with them this half. They’ve totally dominated.

If Luton get through the Wembley pitch will do for them I think
Boro or Coventry will out football theme
But credit to them given where they were a few years ago

We defended incredibly well when we played there especially as the pitch was like a trampoline

Re: Luton v Sunderland
I fancied Sunderland before kick off, and they do play the better football, but they just can't stand up to Lutons physicality.

Re: Luton v Sunderland
Almost the same game when we were there. So difficult to play against them. But we defended well that day and had a bit of luck too.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 8:48 pmWe defended incredibly well when we played there especially as the pitch was like a trampoline

All their bigger players missing through injury and it’s costing them. They can’t cope with it.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 8:49 pmI fancied Sunderland before kick off, and they do play the better football, but they just can't stand up to Lutons physicality.

Re: Luton v Sunderland
Luton have a very bright manager in Edwards-destined for better things with a good CV. Fail to see how Luton could play in the PL without absolutely huge improvements to their ground and facility. Almost an impossibility in a close season of two months
