Welcome to Hell
How are we going to make the match day experience hostile ( within the law!) for away teams following VK speech and The Beast calling us to arms?
My tartan blanket on the front row of the BL Stand could be changed for a skull and crossbones blanket?
Will we run out to:
Strange Town
Town called Malice
Double Dutch ( for our older viewers!)
Awaiting instructions!

I’d say get the light show going, ramp up the volume, and hit ‘em with Metallica “For Whom The Bell Tolls”

Having seen/heard Metallica twice last week that could help!!!Guitargeorge wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 6:19 pmI’d say get the light show going, ramp up the volume, and hit ‘em with Metallica “For Whom The Bell Tolls”
They would be snoring by the first clang.
Re: Welcome to Hell
Given that I’ve seen Burnley fans moan when there’s a firework set off outside the stadium and suggest they’d be unhappy to be under a giant banner/tifo type thing ahead of kick off, there’s a slim to none chance of anything other than No Nay Never being sung.

Turn the PA down and let the fans create an atmosphere. with a drum, of course.

Light show is good but needs to be at kick off not 10 mins before. Combined with some better music too. The dj session with Jordan North and fire etc was decent tbf although seemed to be a one off. Would like to see something involving more flags / scarves ahead of ko. Looked great at Forest and Newcastle this season in the Prem.

I agree although I doubt many supporters would be unhappy with it if they did.RVclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 6:37 pmLight show is good but needs to be at kick off not 10 mins before. Re: Welcome to Hell
Please correct me if I'm wrong as it's quite hard to judge atmosphere's accurately on the TV - the last time the Turf was bouncing in the PL was when we played Cardiff and it was the day the club gave out the free scarves - it makes a HUGE difference and I hope someone points that out to those that make the decisions. The biggest and easiest thing we could do to create a better atmosphere would be to slow the songs down, it's basic but will make the world of difference.RVclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 6:37 pmLight show is good but needs to be at kick off not 10 mins before. Why look any further than ‘Welcome to Hell’ by Venom?
https://youtu.be/4e0VvHZMaTs
Disgusting production, terrible playing… but a stone cold metal classic all the same. I’m seeing flames on the Turf LED screens when Cronos sings ‘burning lives burning’.

Re: Welcome to Hell
There’s so much we could do to make TM a more intimidating.
I always think that the atmosphere at TM is very good anyway but more could be done. Would require a concerted efforts from the club and so far I don’t see anything that suggests they will do that tbh.

Re: Welcome to Hell
The Burnley version of the All Blacks 'Haka' would be amazing. We could turn it into a gurning contest but with so many foreigners in the team these days, I think we might scare our own players.

It’d definitely be hell if we came out to some rock / heavy metal! I’d have to time my stadium entry for 14:59 to avoid the bloody racket!

Hopefully the new premium membership holders will bring something to the party. Would be great if we could house our most loyal fans in the same concentrated area of the ground to ramp the atmosphere up.

Not sure our most loyal fans are necessarily the most vocal. I've been watching Burnley for 71 years but I'm all for a relatively quiet life these days.

Wild thing by Oliver read would be great.
Re: Welcome to Hell
Do you mean by Oliver Reed the Boozy Actor who died whilst filming Gladiator or "Wild Thing" by Reg Presley and the Troggs original song
Re: Welcome to Hell
I haven't posted on here for a long time (more of a lurker these days), but I think that the atmosphere we created during the parade could be used as a template for making a more imposing atmosphere on match days.
Flags and banners all across the Culvert, flares/smoke bombs/chants/singing as the team coaches arrive, and ramping up the "one team" ethic across the home fanbase and encouraging people to be in and around the stretch from the Culvert to the ground much earlier. There would also need to be some coordination between the club and the pubs under the Culvert to create the "Wecome To Hell" aesthetic.

Re: Welcome to Hell
More like welcome to Disneyland with some of the suggestions on here . No player has EVER been intimated at a UK ground by flashing lights and assorted corporate merrymaking . “ Intimidating “ atmospheres ( if they even remotely exist ) can only be created during the game , by the fans serious passion and noise .

Re: Welcome to Hell
TBH, I find it a bit depressing that we would want to focus on being “hostile” and “intimidating” to opposition teams, and by inference, their fans.
Why can’t we just concentrate on positive support for our own team!
Sadly, it’s a small step from manufactured aggression to some dimwit feeling the need to attack physically the other team or their fans.
Love and Peace.

Re: Welcome to Hell
Simple; the fans have to be noisy, and be horrible to opposing players. You scream at them when they come near to you. You make them not want to go towards the fans to collect a ball for a throw in or a corner. Anything which causes them to lose focus for a minute or two. Be a right set of horrible b*****ds.
Will it work? If it helps us gets 4-5 points extra it could be the difference. Remember the other year singing “you let your country down” to Sterling? The fans were on at him constantly. He didn’t actually let anybody down, but it got in his head, he could barely play, and he ended up being subbed.
