Next seasons kit
Re: Next seasons kit
Careful not to confuse additive/subtractive colour models here.
RGB/HEX values are used for digital on-screen purposes only.
Fabrics cannot be accurately designed or matched using RGB/HEX. Sure, you can hold up a garment against a calibrated display (I'll take a punt that very, very few people using UTC have one), but that isn't really the done thing.
You would use Pantone/RAL or other more specific (beyond my knowledge) models for such applications. In any case, fabric textures also affect the perceived colour of the garment.

It's not for me. The sponsorship logo is horrendous. Walking around with a big yellow W logo is not a great look.

Fair enough, it's big money, but like I said, it's looks horrendous. I bet we sell fewer shirts this season. I've not heard any good feedback amongst my social circle. Plenty of unprintable stuff, though. I bet b@stards have a field day with Photoshop. Anyhow, you pay your money and take your choice.

You need to lose the negative mindset that W = W*n**r and think positively, it actually means W*n**r!
It's a Logo and will not affect my choice to buy or not to buy in the slightest. I don't really like collars but think this strip looks smart

Interesting. Well it would be nice to get a darker tone of sky blue to set ourselves apart from W Ham and Villa imo.Leon_C wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 12:30 pmCareful not to confuse additive/subtractive colour models here.

West Ham.
Aston Villa.

I'm another who'd like our blue to be a smidge darker.

Just seen a few of the clubs retweets on twitter
The kit is horrendous. The sponsor is probably the worst we've ever had and totally demolishes what is already a really **** looking shirt.

Re: Next seasons kit
It has grown on me, hard to follow last years classic though.
Re: Next seasons kit
Sponsor doesn’t bother me but the collar does. It does look better live though. Seen a few about today. Hoping the away one is better.

Well luckily in the past few years at least the away kits have generally been better and the third's have been sexy mofos!
...but that sponsor. It's just too pikey and too big!

Does “Wakes week” still happen in any form?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2023 3:49 pmBurnley Wakes week, long time since I ever heard mention of that. Hard to believe now that virtually everyone in town had their hols at the same time.
As it happens, this year they are only a week late, it would have started last Saturday, 8th July.
Sadly I can remember them! And yep, I remember buying my new Burnley shirt to proudly wear on my jolly days in Palma Nova back in the day!!
And probably will buy one this time again despite being an old git………..

Re: Next seasons kit
No but neither has £100m been denied.
Point is that someone has probably fabricated this £9m. How would anyone but the club and the sponsor have access to this information ?
The last time we had a big shirt sponsorship deal the first time the actual figures were made public knowledge were in the audited accounts….which will have been a pretty long time after the deal was struck.

I think Dafabet, Fun88, and LaBa360 we're playing between £5-7m per deal.
Re: Next seasons kit
I know it's a loophole for advertising in countries where gambling adverts are banned but from W88's perspective, is £9m really worth it?

You substantiated the £9m figure by saying nobody has denied it.
My point is nobody from the club is b going to deny any number - so that’s hardly proof.

Re: Next seasons kit
A mate has told me that it's possible to request a shirt "from the supplier" without a sponsor if the sponsor is a betting company. "They have to do it because of religious beliefs etc". I've not heard of this before. Is this true or is he talking rubbish?
Re: Next seasons kit
Your mate is wrong unfortunately, I emailed Umbro and asked because I'd have one without the sponsor.williamjblazkowicz wrote: ↑Sun Jul 23, 2023 9:33 amA mate has told me that it's possible to request a shirt "from the supplier" without a sponsor if the sponsor is a betting company. Probably. Am I right in thinking players under 18 can't wear a gambling sponsor? So if a 17-year-old was to break into our first team, they'd have a different shirt with no sponsor (or a different sponsor)?ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Mon Jul 24, 2023 7:30 pmYou're not wrong, but id imagine that's more for players than punters
Re: Next seasons kit
Watching the Premier League summer series last night and saw a couple of Villa fans in the crowd wearing the W88 sponsor shirt.
Had to look twice, I thought it was maybe some Burnley fans on holiday taking in the game

Re: Next seasons kit
Youth teams don't wear gambling sponsors but in the situation you describe, they'd wear the normal first-team shirt. Doesn't matter about their age.williamjblazkowicz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 10:56 amProbably. Am I right in thinking players under 18 can't wear a gambling sponsor? It's a joke how nice the Umbro shirts are for literally every other club other than ours. It's mad because Burnley shirts are going to be some of the most visible.
Re: Next seasons kit
Reminds me of the ‘Tailored By Umbro’ range that the England kits used to be.

Re: Next seasons kit
It's up to the clubs to give a clear brief to the kit manufacturer. Clearly West Ham and Hearts have asked for clean, classic, white, away kits that will look cool on and off the pitch.
I guess we can just hope that the third kit saves the day for this season's Burnley 'collection' - and pray that the rumours are a well-executed joke

Wow. That Hearts kit is an unbelievable effort.
