We have hardly made a pass to each other in midfield, where is Cullen? Foster and the new lad living of scraps. Their player deserved to be sent off, he made four or five nasty tackles before the last one which was brutal. Yellow possibly for JBG for kicking out.

I assume that cards in these games don't count ?
Kyle Lafferty was sent off in a friendly in Austria in 2007 and started the season with a three match ban. The rules might have changed since.

With all the wingers we are rumoured to end up with wouldn’t mind seeing zaroury in the number 10

He was given a yellow but the ref changed it to red after a minute or so. Think it was the 4th official who saw it.
To be fair, had JBG not tried to stud him the Betis chap wouldn't have reacted the way he did.

That was one dreadful half. Not sure what we were trying to achieve with that but VK will know more than he did before, no doubt. JBK kicked out, red card. Their lad went in with his head, red card. Both pathetic. Now a non event

Well a bitty kind of a game , lets face it it's like beach football as there is so much sand on the pitch .
As for the sending offs well the ref got it right .

For those watching on YouTube - has my stream frozen or are we all just on the green backdrop until they come out for the second half?

I appreciate there won’t be half time analysis but sometimes they just show highlights don’t they.

Fitness for some and also for Roberts probably keeping him on his toes for when he moves into the midfield from right back. Al Dakhil also coming inside at times gaining experience of that. May well be that Al-Dakhil and roberts rotate the right back role this season

A lack of creativity in the back and in the midfield so the upfront players touch a ball every 5-10 minutes.

Seeing this first half I'm starting to think Trésor is a necessity for this team. He's the guy you give the ball to and he'll do something good with it distributing it over a long distance.

A defender like THB or Zeno Debast or Mark McKenzie would distribute more from the back as well. Vitinho is not a player with alot of vision on the pitch either.

Trafford still a bit timid but already taking the role of distributing the ball sometimes even more so than the defenders. This is wrong imo, the defenders should take their responsibility and play deep instead of tapping around. When VK was still playing he would blast around 60m cross passes even on the volley. No messing around.

It's very difficult to see what we are trying to achieve.
We can only hope that the 2nd half is better.
O'Shea excellent so far.

I probably witnessed what everyone else did, JG kicked out when getting up, he knew exactly what he was doing
Didn't see that and haven't seen a reply or anything to confirm.

Can't get why they've been sent off. Instruct the managers to take them off and not bring them back on. Simple.

Two reds 100% but ref should have walked over and told the managers to sub them or they’d be sent off.

its all in the heat of the moment. Actually a more experienced ref would have brought both team managers together with both of the players and requested a substitution of both players immediately.

O'Shea looks similar to Tarky. Does the basic stuff really well, some big tackles, good positioning.

There are posts confirming that JBG was very naughty,
and I totally agree about keeping the game 11 vs 11, unless the rules on friendlies don't allow it.

If the ref is going strictly by the letter of the law then that kickoff was illegal as the taker passed it forward into our half to a player who was in our half.

As long as a part of the players foot is touching the half way line he is legal

Because its 10 v 10. He probably plans around 11 v 11. Now he changes to suit a 10 man formation versus an an opponent with 10 men.

He was about 2ft in our half. Nowhere near the half way line. I don't care, just the ref doesn't know what he's doing.
