Glad Trafford got caught out like that in a friendly & not a league game.

Kyle Lafferty was sent off in a friendly in Austria in 2007 and started the season with a three match ban. The rules might have changed since.

I think Trafford is really feeling the pressure with the fee and hype from his performances in the U-21 Euros.

He seemed very nervy in his first interview, if honest.

That’s a shocker - I’m confident he will be a good ‘un in time but right now he’s nowhere near ready to start in the PL, IMO.

He's probably going to be a fantastic keeper in the future but I would rather have Muric and BPF and Nathan Tella

Good to get clangers out your system nice and early, better still when there's nothing on the line. That said, can't believe we paid what we paid for him and he's gonna start behind Muric. Hope this isn't another Gibson situation.

There are posts confirming that JBG was very naughty,
and I totally agree about keeping the game 11 vs 11, unless the rules on friendlies don't allow it.
Withut excusing or justifying it I can understand JBG's reaction.

Doesn't make it right but consider from his perspective- 32 year old player who after several injury riddled seasons has finally had a healthy season again, back in the PL for probably his last season at that level, and suddenly some dickhead scythes in with two feet scissoring, from behind, a couple minutes before halftime in the midfield in a bloody friendly. You'd almost certainly think "He tried to do me for no reason there".
Doesn't make it acceptable, but forgivable yes.

Not going to pile in on Trafford, but I think we want to start with Muric.

I’m surprised more teams don’t try. Muric plays well off his line also. It’s the sweeper keeper nightmare.
