I agree,Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 9:25 amTbf the comment is more about the strength of the other teams rather than their weakness. I just can’t see which other three teams are worse than them. For example i see our squad light years ahead of there’s based on current squads
Well actually I think Sheff U will finish rock bottom.
Luton are disciplined and unique enough to spoil a few teams’ days - especially at Kennilworth Road…
I look at Sheff United and I just don’t think they’re good enough; midfield is yet another year older (Fleck/Norwood) I’d be really worried if I was them.
I’d say Ahmedhodzic is PL quality but I can’t say that about anyone else in their squad

A loan is the best deal for us because I think he's worth keeping, McNally will be a 30m defender in two years time in my opinion, his style of play reminds me of A young Gary Cahill when he was on loan from Villa

Surely the Pacemaker wouldn't be posting that unless he's signing imminently. Surely.

This Tella stuff is cringe.
He was meant to have had his medical back end of last week only to start for Soton in their friendly on Sat, and now we have this video.

They were impressive at the end of last term but Smallbone was integral and he belongs to Saints. No idea what other business they’ve done.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 11:22 amThat would be a good move for McNally

He didn’t have a medical last week at all but if we were signing a player who was here last season on loan then we wouldn’t need to do a full medical. That was the case with Jordan Beyer.
I agree with your first sentence though.

It’s just bizarre if the deal hasn’t been more or less done.
It’d **** off Southampton and possibly unnecessarily sour our relationship with them.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
It all originated from a poster on here who claimed he was having a medical last week which was obviously him making things up, and now the same poster is saying he’ll be with the squad for the Mainz game.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 11:58 amHe didn’t have a medical last week at all but if we were signing a player who was here last season on loan then we wouldn’t need to do a full medical. Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Seems a poor move from AP to support posting that if Tella's signing isn't imminent. From an outside view it doesn't seem fair on the player or people involved with either club. But I certainly don't have any reason to question our approach to transfer dealings so far.
Sincerely hope he's signing. Big boost to us if so.

I’d be very surprised if we haven’t had a bid accepted with this video. Surely the daughter of a chairman can’t be doing this sort of thing otherwise . Unless there’s something in the Mormon faith that allows it

You don’t have to exist in pro or anti Pace camp to see the problem with the Chairman sharing a video about a player that belongs to another club and who we have been negotiating with - particularly a video made by his daughter who also happens to be employed by the club.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 12:05 pmIt is good we have something new to have a bit of a dig at Pace for, it's been a while
I’m a lot closer to the pro-Pace camp than I am to the one with his detractors, but this isn’t ideal. Sort of get it if he’s already signed and it’s a lead-in to the announcement, but frankly bizarre if no deal has been agreed.

If the video gets deleted then the deal is off, if not it’s as good as a reveal video .

I think if you wanted to slag Pace off you'd point out how unbelievably crass it is to relate Nelson Mandela's jailing to Nathan Tella not signing for Burnley

Having seen the post I assumed the deal had been done. Just checked with with my source who says NO DEAL has been agreed yet, but we are hopeful it will happen towards the end of the window.
Incredibly embarrassing video for all concerned then if you ask me.

Couldn’t give 2 hoots if the Southampton fans like it or not Iv not been keen on them since they were begging with buckets before our game down there in the coyle play off season, only to then run on the pitch goading people.
In terms of doing business between clubs though it is bizarre, I find the whole Tella thing bizarre. At this point pay up or move on pretty simple really.
