Taylor is 29, almost 30 a lot younger

I think it is the thought of Vitinho at LB that keeps everyone hoping Taylor does not godaveisaclaret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 3:23 pmI'm surprised even the most ardent Taylor believer hasn't given up after seeing us play 3 centre halves, Vitinho left back and a 9 man bench with only one defender on.

Indeed ,he would have been good though for the last ten minutes in most games this season to put himself about to get a draw or a win.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 8:47 pmBarnes left on a high which was perfect for him, another 12 months and he would of become a bit part player

If VK wants him then there's no logic in your argument. He'll just miss the one match, as will anyone that we sign after this Friday.dcunningham27 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 2:34 pmSurely if this was the case and they are delaying till after the game then we would of walked away from the deal? Seems mad that they could have that option when were paying £14 mill or whatever it is

In the Sky documentary Kompany said he works best with a big turnover of players so I’m confident there will be more outgoings from the current squad. The only thing is , who?

Just seen the Lokonga to Brighton link.
After Milner and Verbruggen, are Brighton trying to take revenge on us for swooping in for Stephen Ward ahead of them in 2014??

Verbruggen hasn't played yet. He might have started if he had joined us.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Looking at the current squad list we have 22 players on contracts for the next three years, some more - that does include two with an option of an extension after 2025
If he works best with a large turnover of players he's going to have to be mighty persuasive to convince some of the squad to leave in the next couple of weeks or six months
And still three players short - LB, CM and CS
Hope someone has totted up the wage bill

Signings have been overwhelmingly younger players, 18-24 in the main , who will be on less money than the older pros we have relied on heavily in the past.jojomk1 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 7:11 pmLooking at the current squad list we have 22 players on contracts for the next three years, some more - that does include two with an option of an extension after 2025

I guess the long contracts will be relevant to transfer fees when we sell.jojomk1 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 7:11 pmLooking at the current squad list we have 22 players on contracts for the next three years, some more - that does include two with an option of an extension after 2025

He’s been at Gawthorpe for a couple of weeks now. That interview was actually done a while ago. He will have a good number of training sessions under his belt by our game on Sunday,

Over the moon with Ramsey.
It will be very interesting to see if he played in the Dundee/plays in the United friendly tomorrow and if he will be starting on the weekend or on the bench.
From the interview it seems like he’s been with us for a good two weeks or so

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Yes, definitely no arguing that VK hasn't been backed should this season go belly up.
We've committed to very heavy spending, but (hopefully) because most of them are so young the returns could be even heavier should we need them.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
We won't be paying anything like all of it up front, we have a good wedge of PL money to come in if we stay up, and it's highly likely that the value of a number of these players will go up significantly over the next 2 / 3 years, so look at it as an investment. (There's always an element of risk in an investment however).AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 10:46 pmWhere is all this money coming from, I'm not complaining just curious
