This is an every club issue... heard it on the new this morning, not once did they say Burnley fans
So that presumably makes it alright then?

I am not trying to excuse the inexcusable.

This incident has gone out in a press release to the world's media. I am asking for accuracy, that's all.

The way I read the press release is far more likely to lead to a fatality than what is shown in the video.

The incident is sickening and dangerous enough without the press release over-dramatising it. Accurate reporting.
I agree that some of the reporting could lead to some thinking it was a targeted attack where they lay in wait on a bridge and throw a rather large piece of masonry, taken onto the bridge for the sole purpose of hitting the team coach, which looking at the video is not the case.

How on earth can any object being thrown at a moving vehicle not be classed as potentially dangerous or even life threatening?
I love how threads like this go from the correct response of disgust to yeah but, no but within a hundred posts.
Not to mention a bit of casual Met Police bashing thrown in for good measure.

When the statement came out, the video hadn’t been seen.

The underpass and the bridge are close together.
I doubt Villa will have been aware of the underpass so when it happened they wouldn’t have know the direction and assumed to have been from above and that is what they have reported as.

Iam not embarrassed to be a Burnley fan, anyone with half a brain can distinguish between a normal football fan and a brain-dead moron
I agree all this embarrassment business is actually embarrassing within itself, it takes weak minded individuals to be embarrassed about other peoples behaviour which doesn't & shouldn't reflect on their own character who played no part in the coach incident the same applies for the lighter incident. Supporting & being associated with something doesn't bear individual responsibility when things go sh*tshaped.

Our first two home games since our return to the EPL, and we are in the media for all the wrong reasons. All the good work from last season undone. It's a crying shame.

Thing is, when you live away, you like to talk up the town, the surrounding countryside, Towneley Hall, the football club, the local cricket clubs and who it has produced.

And then the thing that makes headlines that those same people see, is this s**t.

It gets really f**king depressing

I think the point is that actions like these whether mindless racism or idiotic, potentially dangerous object throwing embarrasses anybody who has been delighted with the recent changes made to the club on and off the field.
Our American backers and the interest being created around us in the States and elsewhere offer great possibilities.
The behaviour of a few ruin our reputation and that's what is embarrassing.
I go on the Turf, get to a few aways and am a ST holder and nothing will change that.
It's our club I'm embarrassed for not me.

Is there any confirmation it was actually a Burnley ‘fan’ to me it looks like to little chavs acting like some young lads do these days and it just happened to be straight after the game. What’s happened is shocking but it’s the way everyone is so quick to tarnish every single Burnley fan.

Thing is, even if it is accepted that it isn't a Burnley "fan" its still a resident, most likely, and so that is still a bit of an embarrassment

And the "resident" hit a coach carrying players from a game against a team from our club.
Enough there, I feel, for any BF C fan to be appalled but apparently not.

Interestingly on this video the lad shouts ‘Birmingham internationals’ and the accent doesn’t sound very Burnley.

The whole episode is embarrassing for the club and for the town. That said, if you listen to the video of the incident the two people speaking do not appear have local accents at all if I’ve heard it correctly. That tells me that they are not fans of the club and just happen to have moved into the area as part of the rapid demographic changes occurring.

It still doesn’t make it any better if that’s the case, but it’s irks me when I keep seeing “Burnley fans” and our actual fans automatically agreeing with it, when it’s possibly little hoodlums on a destructive mission. Unfortunately we all get tarnished regardless.

Sorry folks I am not local but post match around I think is Queens Park I was stuck behind about 5 Villa coaches no problem until a group of hoodies clearly Burnley fans decided to have a go at the coaches. Within 20 seconds the coppers appeared and sorted it out.
I wish they’d been at Villa circa 1975 when our bus was bricked as it was freezing in the way home 😁

'Lancashire Police confirmed in a statement that a brick was dropped from a motorway footbridge and the front window suffered significant damage.'

Looked to me like a stone was thrown from an underpass from the video I saw.

Did it happen anywhere Accy Rd/Westgate?

Just read on another fans site that the video was done on Snapchat and that the police should be able to find the phones owner.
Not sure if this is correct because I haven't a clue what Snapchat is!

The team bus bricking was the second item on R5 Live national news bulletin read out just now.

So still in national news headlines bringing shame on the town.

Read the whole thread.
Even you should be able to pick them out.
It's you who mentioned them...I haven't seen them so would be helpful for you to point out the ones you refer to

11 am news on Boom Radio just signed off with airport about “ the bricking of the Aston Villa team bus after their match against Burnley yesterday”.
I do think there IS such a thing as bad publicity.

I haven't seen any posts saying that, I think it 100% saying the attack is disgraceful or any other description that fits

There might be posts suggesting they might not be Burnley "fans", or comments on the reporting.

I've said iam not embarrassed at being a Burnley fan, as some would want us to be, but it doesn't mean I think the attack was ok.

Perhaps a link to the many posts you think are not condemning the incident would be helpful.

Very true, and having checked, it's not there

fair old shot like at a vehicle travelling at that speed. certainly not the first time they've done it. Must have been on a super dose of heroin yesterday.

Judging by some of the comments and lack of condemnation, far too many I'd say.
I've taken 10 mins out of my day to re read the whole thread, and there is not one post saying anything like what you are suggesting
There is not one post that doesn't condemn the bricking of the coach
It's embarrassing that you should make things like this up, for reasons I cannot imagine
