Beyer booked for shirt pull on Isak, fails to give advantage
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Taylor and Brownhill really limit our build up play on that side against teams that press

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
We’re going to do well to still have 11 men at the end of the game
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
We've always looked small at this level, it's the first thing I notice when we go back up.

Ref keeps giving fouls based on crowd reaction......they scream for everything!

Bayer rolled far too easily

We are far too easily dispossessed, need more physicality

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
I would take Ramsey off and bring on Tresor.
Possibly bring on Jay just to give us a bit of height and hopefully get a foothold.
Getting bullied all over the pitch right now

Lets not concede now-if we can get to HT and regroup, may be play Jay and Amdouni as the No 10

This ref is gonna send one of ours off.
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Being schooled at the moment……just need to hang in there and get to half time at 1-0!
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
It’s not a dig at Trafford. I know you like to come on here for a bit of controversy/an argument.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 3:40 pmTbf Cryer what else is he supposed to do, we can go short as newcastle are destroying us with the press. Can’t go long as we have shortest attack in the league.
It’s about the tactics, if you need an option for the outball, either aim for Berge, or put Berge up in that space for a flick to Koleosho, you know, someone who might win something against the biggest bloke on the pitch.

Since the goal it’s been extremely tough to watch
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Our summer recruitment was frustrating at the time but looking back on it now it’s just maddening.
We have some skilful players and plenty of pace but we’ve just not able to give ourselves a platform to play. All far too lightweight.

Zaroury for Ramsey at half time for me.
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
At this level, I’m reminded of Brighton in their PL infancy and Norwich under Farke. Opposition teams absolutely love playing teams like this.

Yes I agree. Either Tresor or Anass for me, but Ramsey is looking way out of his depth at the moment.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 3:43 pmI would take Ramsey off and bring on Tresor.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
It was so obvious how much we needed a bit of strength and height in the middle and it just never came in the summer. Made some fantastic signings and playing some decent stuff. But it's startling just how small we look compared to other sides.

Corner - Burnley.
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
I agree with a lot of these comments. Bucket loads of technical ability but very weak and inexperienced/naive, it's worrying.
I'd bring on Jay and Tresor at half time. Amdouni and Ramsey off.

Changes needed at half time, amdouni and Ramsey for me to make way
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Hey guess what, another appalling corner.
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
And VK even said plenty of time how physical the league is and how it’s moved on even from when he last played in 2019.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Short corners because we have nothing to compete physically. That’s fine, but we hit the first man every time…

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
They are doing a five man press which means the space for the pass is mid distance to the half way area. Traffords radar appears to be off at the moment for that distance

Good save from Trafford from a terrible pass

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
...madness!
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Bruno has absolutely eaten Cullen alive in that half
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
The key areas weren’t sorted.
My hope is that we can keep pace until January and then address the problem areas - central midfield and full backs, another striker and possibly another centre half.
That we appear quite so short in various areas, despite what we have spent and how many we have brought in, isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement of the business we did over the summer.
It’s been a very hard start which we have to take into consideration but by God our midfield looks weak and lacking on the ball.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Zaroury on for either Ramsey, Berge or Brownhill. Id swap out Brownhill but the safer option is prob to sub Ramsey.
Berge alongside Cullen, Ramsey behind Amdouni and Zaroury and Koleosho wide

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
We need to learn and learn quick that we can't slowly play it out deep from the back, we don't have the players at this level. It's costing us time and time again and we are really lucky it's only a 1 goal deficit
The plus side is though I think Trafford has been very good 1st half

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
They quickly adapted to Koleosho, double and trebling up on him. Was a very tough watch after that first ten. We couldn't escape their press and far too many sloppy mistakes in possession.
We are lucky it is only 1-0. Some good saves from Trafford, but his distribution has been a big contributor to our problems.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Two para review.
We were the better team for 8-10 minutes, they scored out of nothing from terrible play by Ramsey and then utterly dominated us for the entirety of the half. Very lucky to be only one down and two great saves from Trafford.
I don’t even know how we look to change it - we have nothing of any physical note to change the outlook of the game which is pressing strength and physically robbing us of the ball. All of our subs are basically mirrors of what are already playing. Technically proficient but weak young players.
I’d definitely bring Zaroury on for Ramsey though, he has struggled.

No controversy I am just really struggling with our tactics today.CryerBFC wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 3:43 pmIt’s not a dig at Trafford. I know you like to come on here for a bit of controversy/an argument.

Really not sure what VK is expecting from Trafford with the ball at his feet today. They are pressing our defence into mistakes so he is having to go long, but up top we literally have the three smallest players on the pitch.
I personally think Jay has got to come on just to give us an out ball
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
What a frustrating half of football. I really don't like grumbling my way through it but they were there for the taking in the first ten minutes or so. They were all at sea, we had three good openings and one excellent chance. Didn't take it and then pow.
Yes yes, they're a super team but we barely even give ourselves a chance to get anything from these sorts of fixtures because we don't take our chances. And when you're as flimsy at the back as we are, you have to be extra clinical.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
How many more times will we put ourselves in trouble in the 2 half? We've made it incredibly easy for them
