Chuffed for him.

Hopefully will put the drivel on here to bed. He's our next Danny Ings.

Was there really that many people writing him off? Most people said he'd looked poor, which he had but acknowledged there was plenty of time for him to come good.
You contradict yourself: the opening question and the first half of the following sentence.

Surely you can say someone has played poorly, but there's still time for them to come good?

Absolutely delighted for him. I had a feeling it would be his day when he came on, and he took it ever so well. Hopefully he gets a few now.

Barnes has been class but I might just give Foster the start against Hull…

Really pleased to see him get off the mark today. Actually thought it was a really difficult chance given the angle but he smashed it home!

Should do him the world of good!

Was a good finish, if confidence is low chances like that where you don't really have time to think are probably easier.

Really pleased for the lad and especially given that he thwacked it in with the verve of Roy Race. Much better to get your first goal with a flourish.

Hopefully the first of many.

I was absolutely delighted when that wonderful finish hit the back of the net. There was some real skill in that.

Now there’s been some fair evaluation of his performance so far in which he has been poor but the need to give him way more time was recognised by most. Some experts in their own bathroom mirror decided theyd seen enough after 20 mins to write him off completely.

Let’s hope yesterday will give him the confidence to really kick on now. There’s a player in there.

Yes a Cornet type finish and well set up by two other players.

He looked sharp yesterday. Couple of good runs, some nice hold up play and took the goal brilliantly.

What I noticed straight away was that he looked a different player as soon as he scored. His touch was more confident, he was pulling wide more too.

There’s a player there for sure. In games where he can turn and run at teams I expect to see even more from him.

We were talking about the possibility/probability of just that in the car yesterday on the way to the game.

You could feel his relief emanate around the ground when he fell to his knees and raised his arms to the heavens.

Now come on Lyle show us all what VK saw in you 🙂

Yesterday's game and the timing of his introduction was the perfect way for a new striker to present himself to the fans.
He took his chance superbly to compliment a good team performance.
Prior to this game I think his introduction has been at the wrong time into an unbalanced team.
He has now given us a glimpse of what VK has obviously seen.

We’re a totally different prospect with him in the team, he looks like our most clinical finisher so we need to keep him fit. Unbelievable transformation from what we saw last season.

If we can keep hold of him. Teams are already looking at Koleosho so I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't got scouts on Foster.

I don’t think it is unbelievable.

I thought the signs were there and he just needed time.

Sadly, this board isn’t known for allowing players that time.

I was critical of some of his early performances, but I’ve grow grown to absolutely love him. Everything we need in a lone striker at this level: strength, pace, aggression, the ability to hold the ball up and - what we’ve been sadly lacking in the last two Premier League games - finishing. Kompany was bang on the money about Lyle and I’m sure he won’t be the last signing we say that about.

If he continues to play with confidence and a smile on his face, the sky’s the limit.

I just hope people are paying attention, Benson and Zaroury took a good while to settle, Foster has now settled and looks more than comfortable at this level - the future for us is very bright however long it takes, we have some seriously talented players.

At this moment in time out of the three players mentioned, for some reason, it looks Like only Foster will be regarded has having a successful future at the club. The other two seem out of favour.

Already dreading Foster leaving to go to AFCON in January, surely with the amount of African players in the league now there’s an argument to postpone the league whilst AFCON is on

Does it coincide with the Prem’s 2 week winter break at all?

Also not sure South Africa are up to much so hopefully (sorry Lyle) he’s not away for long…

But yeah agree with the sentiment.

No it doesn’t coincide with it (actually starts 2 days after winter break finishes.

If South Africa go all the way he will miss 4 games. But in all likeliness he will only miss two games

According to Google the tournament games run from 13th January to 11th February, we have 4 league games during thst period.
Let's hope Obafemi is fit by then, who knows we may have made a move in the transfer window for a striker.

Didn't know the dates of the tournament, the 2 home games in Luton & Fulham are huge misses the 2 aways in Man City & Liverpool less so. Hopefully he scores 3 each game but they lose each game and he is back quicker.

We better have got another striker in January window or a injury or two up front we could have a crisis.

When you consider we've played some good sides, scored against Spurs, Villa and Luton. 3 goals from 6 games is a very respectable return for a player who should hopefully continue to improve and get more opportunities against the teams from the bottom half.

I wasn't convinced by him last season but he's doing incredibly well this season. Long may it continue.
