UK & Ireland Euro 2028 Stadiums
1. Wembley Stadium (London) (capacity 90,652)
2. Principality Stadium (Cardiff) (73,952)
3. Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (London) (62,322)
4. Etihad Stadium (Manchester) (61,000)
5. Everton Stadium (Liverpool) (52,679)
6. St James' Park (Newcastle) (52,305)
7. Villa Park (Birmingham) (52,190)
8. Hampden Park (Glasgow) (52,032)
9. Aviva Stadium (Dublin) (51,711)
10. Casement Park (Belfast) (34,500)
About right ? Surprised Anfield isn’t on the list, very historic and had lots of work done recently to make it a top modern stadium.
Mad how Old Trafford was the best stadium in the country even as little as 10 years ago but has been left to rot and isn’t even considered even though it’s the highest capacity club ground in the country.
I’d say it’s bang on a good spread of grounds around the country. Let’s hope all England’s games aren’t at Wembley. Be decent if there a localish one to us.

Worth noticing Aston Villa have plans in place for a 100m redevelopment of the North Stand to be finished by 2026 which will take the capacity of Villa Park from 42k to just over 50k.

I take it that is the Bramley Dock and not Goodison?
Could be hosting Bury by 2028.

Yeah be a top ground that when it’s finally done, be funny if they are in the Championship.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 5:31 pmI take it that is the Bramley Dock and not Goodison?

I went to old Trafford in 2017 and it wasn’t that good even then
It felt, and looked, dated
It’s no shock that it’s not on the list for an international tournament

It's a shocking, decaying mess and nowhere near the quality of the newer ground.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 5:43 pmI went to old Trafford in 2017 and it wasn’t that good even then

Pretty sure all nations need to qualify by playing in the qualifiers. All five nations are not getting a pass into the tournament itself.

6 countries get automatic qualification

Old trafford reminds me on a lego set from the 80s
Re: UK & Ireland Euro 2028 Stadiums
Sounds like all five nations will go into qualifying, but they'll save 2 spaces free for those that miss out. Not sure what happens if more than 2 don't qualify.Yanquiclaret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 6:44 pmPretty sure all nations need to qualify by playing in the qualifiers. If Everton go bust before Bramley Dock is finished, could Liverpool buy it ?

I read Anfield's pitch size doesn't meet regulations. They can't host European finals either.ClaretsPadiham wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 5:26 pm1. Wembley Stadium (London) (capacity 90,652)

They’d lose approx 10,000 paying supporters if they did.Nonayforever wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 9:20 pmIf Everton go bust before Bramley Dock is finished, could Liverpool buy it ?

Not wanting to sound like a cranky conspiracy theorist but do clubs/ground owners get money upfront for the tournament? Could be a convenient way to get Everton some help from the FA over their FFP charges

Casement Park hasn’t even started to be built yet.

Correct and they (politicians) are already bickering about it. Been lying dormant for the guts of a decade.TheOriginalLongsider wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2023 6:49 amCasement Park hasn’t even started to be built yet.
