Weasel in Garden
Weasel in Garden
Saw a weasel (I think) in garden, yesterday. Lightening moves. Had something to eat. Bound off and back a couple of times. Never seen one before.

Re: Weasel in Garden
It can be quite difficult to identify the difference because they don't stay in the same spot for long enough at close range, I think I saw 1 the other week near wycollar but can't be sure if it was a weasel or a stoat or a mink, I think the elusive pine marten can be safely ruled out with only allegedly living in a certain area.

I’ve got a weasel / stoat lives in my garden wall. Further down the road are a family and you frequently see the young playing in the road.

Re: Weasel in Garden
A Stoat has a tail half the length of its body and it’s tail has a bushy Black tip. The Weasel has a short stubby Brown tail.

Re: Weasel in Garden
Weasels are inclined to invade empty country homes and make a nuisance.
You need an organized and well equipped militia to get rid of them.

Re: Weasel in Garden
You're screwing with us boss.
It's definitely the tail. Stoats are slightly bigger (which doesn't help when they're not together) but if it doesn't have a definite black tip to the tail, its a Weasel.
Both fascinating.

It was too fat to catch the detail nut very slender and not big.
For a weasel in my Scottish garden, it was definitely stoating aboot!
