Re: MOTD
Trending all over Twitter and people are absolutely furious about it. I expect a joint statement tomorrow from FIFA, UEFA, the FA, the BCC and Gary Lineker at the very least to address such a serious matter

Very true, but plenty of our fans used to call him that throughout his time here with us.AmbleClaret wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 11:48 pmHow unprofessional is the idiot commentating on Forest v Luton. Called Chris Wood, "Woods" all the way through the game.Clue- name on shirt.Lazy and disrespectful.

Re: MOTD
its become a boreathon, linekar, shearer and laughing boy richards. hideous spin off dross with these clowns. when the actual programme airs , its an arsenal /spurs fest.
Re: MOTD
I’d no idea until I watched it that Robert’s had been sent off, so stupid to get the first yellow. Not that we deserved any air time but they never mentioned us once, even how bad we were after the game, it was all Brentford.
Re: MOTD
Only they did mention it. And showed the incident. What they didn't mention was how the striker that was "pulled back" wasn't. It was obvious from one of the angles that he threw himself after some fairly inoccuouscontact.

How a football highlights show elicits such fury from some people baffles me. Re: MOTD
Oh to have a competent Premier League midfielder in our ranks now.
Hendrick played his part in that team that finished 7th.

Re: MOTD
There were dozens on here who wanted us to ditch the likes of George Boyd and Scott Arfield. It was obvious what attributes they possessed and were playing out the roles requested by the manager. That didn’t stop the negativity from some.

Re: MOTD
Apart from all that he’s probably a nice guy. Bloody good footballer though in his day.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 11:50 amHe’s also an alcoholic , drug addict , gambling addict and a supreme bellend etc etc

Re: MOTD
I once went to an event about 10 years ago where Merson and Neil Ruddock were after dinner speakers. Ruddock came across as being arrogant, self-centered and egotistical.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 11:50 amHe’s also an alcoholic , drug addict , gambling addict and a supreme bellend etc etc
Merson spoke very honestly admitting his problems and how he overcame those problems. He was quite amusing in the way that he delivered his life experience and I really enjoyed listening to him. Most of my friends thought the same Ruddock-prick, Merson-decent fellow.

You’re probs quite right ,I’m sure he is and was indeed a superb player in his prime . Strange irony that the serious boozehounds like Best,Gazza,Merson,Adams ,Bryan Robson ,Jimmy Greaves etc all played their very best stuff when in the grip of the demon drink .

Re: MOTD
My comment was more a gentle dig at the “ dyslexic “ post ,as surely the least of his worries . Ruddock does tend to come across as a horrible character . He was actually bullying Merson to tears in that England documentary when Harry Redknap takes a team of former hasbeen Eng players on a trip to Italy ? I think .Anonymous Claret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 12:32 pmI once went to an event about 10 years ago where Merson and Neil Ruddock were after dinner speakers. He's got a family full of eccentrics
One of my favourites, and luckily I've got tickets to the up and coming tour.

Re: MOTD
I think Merson was emotional because he could see himself and his addictions in Ruddock. Merson told him a few home truths and Razor didn’t like it. Think they made up afterwards and to be fair to Ruddock he appears to have got his life back on track, lost weight, stopped drinking etc.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 1:01 pmMy comment was more a gentle dig at the “ dyslexic “ post ,as surely the least of his worries . Re: MOTD
Merson did share some crazy tales about living with Gazza and 5 Bellies. It's just insane how they could perform to such a high level on a football pitch.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 12:58 pmYou’re probs quite right ,I’m sure he is and was indeed a superb player in his prime .
