I think that’s one of the round of fixtures Amazon has so half will be on the Tues and half on the Weds.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 2:40 pmIs it right that Man City, Spurs, West ham & Palace are all playing Sunday and then Tuesday at the start of December for TV ?

Re: TV Fixtures
That's interesting that you went to the last ever Christmas Day fixture between Blackpool and Blackburn because I also went to it. Five of us, dad, uncle, brother and cousin were with me. Think the original game had been abandoned earlier in December.lakedistrictclaret wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 5:07 pmYes, I went to that. I lived in Lytham then. Blackpool won 4-2.
Exactly a week later was my first visit to Ewood. We won 2-0.
Football was a lot more affordable then because the same five of us went to Stoke the following day where having gone 0-1 up we lost 3-1. As you say Blackburn away on New Year's Day and we won 0-2 and that was the day a young Ralph Coates sat on the ball with both sides down to 10 men.

Re: TV Fixtures
I bet you do.
Willie and 'Bomber' Harris with the goals. What a goalscorer he was and idolised by fans at the time. An absolute crying shame what happened to him at Goodison Park. I,I, Irvine, Irvine,I.

That makes sense, it being Amazon. I forgot they showed some games. I presumed it was Sky or BT as it said Man Utd Chelsea had been picked for the Wednesday.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 3:31 pmI think that’s one of the round of fixtures Amazon has so half will be on the Tues and half on the Weds.

Re: TV Fixtures
Does anyone know why the live games this Sunday are at 1pm and 3:30pm rather than two and half four?
Re: TV Fixtures
Clocks change this weekend, they'll be the BST times.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 1:39 pmDoes anyone know why the live games this Sunday are at 1pm and 3:30pm rather than two and half four?
Edit: or maybe not... Seems a bit weird, but it'll be something to do with the clocks changing.

Re: TV Fixtures
With Burnley and Wolves playing on the Saturday and the amount of teams playing on the Sunday it’s safe to say ours will be on the Tuesday.

Is what I'm being told but it was all held up last week because of one game so anything can happen I suppose.Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2023 4:32 pmAh ok, so we will know wolves date before tickets go on sale.
Looks very much as though Wolves v Chelsea is going to be 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Playing on Christmas Eve pretty much sums up everything that’s wrong about the Premier League.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2023 5:14 pmIs what I'm being told but it was all held up last week because of one game so anything can happen I suppose.

The supporters are inconsequential to Sky and the clubs.
These Saturday night 8pm kick offs are almost as bad.

Hard to believe now that it used to be a football day until the late 1950s (1957 our last Christmas Day game I think).Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2023 5:44 pmAlmost….there’s the day after though. And I would not put this beyond the powers that be.

No announcement of TV picks today - tomorrow looks favourable.
Re: TV Fixtures
I’m hoping Everton at home doesn’t get moved to the Friday night as I have a gig in Manchester that evening. Got a feeling it might do though.
