I can’t see how you see Muric as number one , no presence in the six yard box , he’s a huge unit but doesn’t use it , also he flapped a couple of times.
if you can't see what Muric gave us tonight that Trafford doesn't then there is no reply anyone can give you that will help.

I just don’t see an argument for one which can’t be applied to the other.
Trafford concedes lots against the cream of the PL - The argument is to change him because ‘we can’t get any worse’ than Muric concedes three, despite doing little wrong.

Muric is better passing - We stick him in and have one shot on goal. I also appreciated his kick straight to Pickford at one point, although I did have a chuckle thinking I’m not sure Trafford can kick it that far.

Tonight has offered little conclusion in the Muric v Trafford debate but has certainly shown that changing the GK is merely rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
so you missed that Berge and Cullen had much more time on the ball then ?

not Muric's fault though. Cullen has had a terrible season, dithers on the ball but maybe that's because he gets no help from anyone ? It's a huge problem for us Taio and when you look at the bench I'm struggling to see alternatives. I've seen the same from Cullen many many times when he plays for Ireland. IMHO and without wanting to come across too disrespectfully I think his maximum level (from all the games I've seen him play only) is top end Championship but that's with the above caveat of having no support

I thought Berge looked really handy.

I actually thought Vitinho was our best attacking outlet

Tresor clearly has ability, but tactically something isn’t right with him
First time berge has come against another team with a midfield 2 so he wasn’t being over ran

Tresor from the left so he can cut in on his strong foot and play through balls

Muric in possession of ball is 100% the biggest positive
Delcroix looked good on the ball and if he played left back with a stronger cb next to him then he could be a good player, Taylor has a much better engine than him though
Berge was very good in spells but he wasn’t playing against an extra cm

Hopefully whoever came up with the plan that ended up with Cullen marking Tarky at corners will resign.

I actually thought we played quite well and limited a more or less full strength Everton team to very little, a few tweaks attacking wise and the goals will come. Defence is the obvious problem, AAD I just do not see this “potential” that others see, Iv never seen a player at any level let the ball bounce as much as he does, literally school boy stuff but he does it all the time then gets out muscled and chances come from it. He needs to learn that basics of defending and put on some healthy weight or he’s got no chance. Ekdsl is twice if not three times the defender.

What does this reply have anything to do with the poster saying muric is clearly better right now than Trafford

Biggest positive from yesterday is the fact that it became November, feels like it is another month closer to May :D

One other potential positive I saw was that if Everton lose DCL to any kind of long term injury again then they will massively struggle

- That the argument that we would have done significantly better so far this season with Muric in goal has once and for all been debunked.
- That we didn't pick up any new injuries.
- Delcroix, Redmond and Berge looked decent again. Hopefully we can build around their experience moving forward this season.

Was just thinking that, don't think we'll hear much moaning about loyalty points or how hard it is to get away tickets for the rest of this season.

Actually, it might not be much easier as I suspect the club will start taking up much smaller away allocations if the season continues as expected.

We should easily be on 12 points even after playing so badly, so by law of averages it can only get better

Berge looked the business and if he is this effective against teams that will not press like Palace he's going to be a key player in our relegation battle

Every team in the prem press like Palace did, he needs to be playing more forward.

Not true though because PGMOL have apologised for the forest decision which would have given us 2 more points, we should have been out of sight first half against Luton but we weren’t.
My point was trying to think of positives

Berge looks a good player and played well again- our best acquisition so far
Defence looks better with Beyer and even oShea looks better alongside him - I think yesterdays back four could settle and improve
Fans really stayed behind the team yesterday and we didn't see loads leaving on 70 mins so they clearly thought we were 'in it'
More shots and corners than recently.

There are things there to build on - keep most of that team in and maybe redmond for koleosho (I expect K will look better from the bench when players are a bit Korean tired and he is fresh)
