Greedy yes.

Re: Black Friday
If somebody thinks it's a good deal they'll buy one, otherwise they won't, like all sales, nobody is forcing anyone to buy

Re: Black Friday
Haven't they been £40 since the start of the season? Then increase the price to £50, mark it down to £40 and make it appear to be a saving.
Black Friday is nothing but a massive marketing exercise. Which did a survey on 200 Black Friday deals from 2022, of those only 5 were at their lowest price on that day. The other 195 had been on sale at a lower price at other points during the year.

Re: Black Friday
I have been following tv prices this year. I saw a philips oled go up £300 on halloween, I wonder if it will come down by the same amount on BF.

Re: Black Friday
People will buy not knowing they are last seasons
But they should be giving them at half the price not £40

Re: Black Friday
Is the club not tied into some kind of pricing arrangement with Classic Football Shirts for last season's kits?

Re: Black Friday
A bit rubbish these days, though. I enjoyed it more in the past when the next day newspapers were full of photos of people knocking ten bells out of each other over cheap unbranded tellies.cockneyclaret wrote: ↑Tue Nov 21, 2023 10:29 amClearing old stock to the gullible..

Re: Black Friday
My mum wouldnt know the difference for example. She doesnt follow football. But if she saw a BF deal and bought 1 as a gift, wrapped it and gave it 5 weeks down the line as a present. Dont you think that claret fan may be a little upset
Re: Black Friday
Would she not realise its discounted for a reason?
Re: Black Friday
Don't think I am
My mum is 88..if she saw the offer and wanted to buy one for a great grandchild I'd hope she'd ask me or her grandson if it was a good deal.... However if she was daft enough to go ahead and buy without asking, not knowing what she was buying, then she'd deserve all she got...
Nobody should buy anything that they don't know what they are buying

Re: Black Friday
Black Friday is a big con for the most part, but there’s genuine bargains to be had.
There’s some cracking deals on mountain bikes at the moment if anyone is after one

Re: Black Friday
Agree with most sentiments that it's a big rip off but occasionally you can get a bargain. I'm 70 this christmas and my wife has promised to buy me a new set of golf irons. I've been to my local American golf to test drive a few and finally decided on a set which are certainly not cheap. She was all set to order them but I said to hold off to see if they were any cheaper on black Friday. I didn't see any online and was getting ready to confirm the order when we went to the Trafford Centre last Tuesday. We popped into the big American golf store there and lo and behold there was a 2nd hand set of the exact clubs I was after. They had hardly been used by the previous owner and American golf had taken them back as part of an exchange deal. They were 400 quid less than we were going to pay for the new ones. It was meant to be and certainly a bargain

On the plus side, last year's was a nicer shirt, and we have at least won a good few games in it.

Re: Black Friday
Can't speak specifically for those shirts as don't have one but have a few England Umbro shirts and always get next size up as find Umbro sizing less generous than some other brands.FeedTheArf wrote: ↑Thu Nov 23, 2023 1:44 pmWhat's the sizing like on these?? Not had an Umbro one before.

Had a browse yesterday and you had the option to click and collect. Today that option has mysteriously disappeared so got stung an extra £5 on delivery!
