I still think you can put Forest in the mix . With the way the teams at the bottom are performing ( at present) , 30 points could keep you up . Hopefully we get Beyer and Ekdal back soon plus bring in an experienced cm in January.

You can add Palace in there too.
Why should we add a team who started brightly, has an experienced manager and will only get better once Eze and Olise are back before the likes of Forest, Everton, Fulham?

Not a mimi league but as things stand we certainly are a relegation contender with 3 or 4 other clubs.

Think the OP will be right with the bottom four but hopefully not in that order.

It's a league of six, as has been suggested above.

You can add Everton and Forest to the four.
Your predictions are beginning to look way off and I will stick with my orginal post that it's a mini league of 4 for the drop.
Forest playing really well against an inform Villa.

I said at the start of the season we and other 2 promoted teams and Bournemouth would be down there it's one of four who will escape , but Everton might enter it if and a big IF they get a massive penalty points deducted.

Staying up will rely on being able to defend.

We can't.

Not as things stand now.

Based on what I’ve seen we are the worst team and if we stay with the same strategy I think we’ll comfortably finish bottom. I think it’s between Luton and Bournemouth for 17th spot. I think Luton can stay up.

I don’t believe any of the bottom 3 will get to 25 points.

Bournemouth are pulling away now and Forest are bottom of the form league at the moment with difficult games coming up in December and January.

The situation is not hopeless yet. :geek:

Those 2 points sum up Tuesday evening and most of the previous games, with the obvious exception of Sheffield United. Can't score and continue to gift the opposition easy chances is, I am afraid, only going to lead us to the inevitable.

Everton will finish mid table, they'll be miles clear of 25 points despite a points deduction, Forest and Bournemouth are the teams to aim for but I think that ships sailed now

Never say never.

We've not been lucky with injuries, and if we can get to January with about 15 points then we might have half a chance.

Will Foster go to Afcon?

Beyer / Ekdal may make us a lot more solid.

We are improving, but we need to just scab a couple of dirty wins from somewhere to give us a boost.

The wolves game would have been a real turning point had we won, but we didn’t and I think that’s the end of any realistic chance we have of staying up. The bottom 3 look likely to be cut adrift in a few weeks.

Just need to be in sight of 17th at the end of Jan.
A few loans/ reinforcements and we may be in with a chance. There’s always a surprise team that loses their way too.

Weirdly, it's a bit (only a bit) rosier than it was a few weeks ago despite only the one win. Palace are getting dragged into it as are Forest. Not sure how you can be sure a team will have a new manager bounce when you a) don't know how long the current manager is going to last and b) who that manager will actually be. Anyone remember Steve Kean?

Ok, we're making individual errors, but we generally look a bit more robust in terms of our shape and we are at least competitive against established PL teams. Koleosho is obviously a huge blow and we really could do with Foster back soon, but time for somebody to step up and if we can grind out a couple until January, who knows - there's a long way to go yet.

Sorry pal, I’m only being realistic. We have played a bit better of late but keep committing suicide at the back. I’m not counting the Sheff Utd match as that was just a non contest really.
Who are the Walker lads in Castlefields then? Do they drink in the Telegraph? I don’t go in that pub so I should be relatively safe, although I regularly walk over the footbridge over the river up to Underdale Road wearing my Burnley Beanie Hat!

Unless we can pick up a minimum of 5 points from next five games up to the end of December, we can talk about mini leagues all we like but we won’t be in it.

When we were robbed against Forest back in September but still got our first point, we were 6 points behind.

We remain 6 points behind after another 10 games, having had a harder run.

If we get to within 2 points when Forest visit the Turf for our final game, we have a chance.

That’s more than do-able, I’m amazed how many are throwing in the towel. Our old friend the Greek who owns it, with his son conducting transfers, they may turn out to be geniuses. Then again, they may not.

There are several possibles:
Bournemouth (just on a good run at present, but it may not last)
Wolves and Palace.

These teams are not much stronger than us, despite the fact that they have beaten us.
