Callum O'Hare

Post by Darnhill Claret » Fri Dec 08, 2023 10:05 pm

Second start after returning from his injury. Scored both in a 2-0 win. Very busy player, makes things happen. Looked almost back to his best.

If you are good enough, you are tall enough.

I'd be surprised if he was that tall.

I think watching our lightweights against big strong technically gifted players this season blows that theory out of the water.

It works if you're a David Silva best in the world/top percentile but when the skill level is similar - the more athletic player will tend to have more success.

There's powerful athletes throughout the football league but without the skill - those with both tend to play at the top level.

Watching him last night and trying to piece together the timing we were rumoured to be in for him…

If we signed him, I would like to think we wouldn’t have signed Zaroury, and maybe Benson dependant on timing? And with that in mind, I feel the two we’ve got are much better than him on their day.

Weren't we said to be interested in buying him a few months ago?

And then he had his injury.

Ok the top teams have some small players but most also have one or two brutish midfielders enforcers to put their foot in,and city also have a beast called Haarland .

Yes, in the summer before the Championship after Kompany took over, apparently made several bids around the 7 to 8 million area but Coventry wanted more then he got his injury which ruled him out for a long time.

Tbf it’s a great comparison, arguably the best player of all time and a lad that’s never kicked a ball at this level.

His size is critical as he doesn’t have the same level of skill as messi quite clearly

How tall is Messi?

Iniesta?

Scholes?

Height is irrelevant when playing football.

If he is Messi, grab him. Otherwise, all teams need a good offering g of tall players to counter the other team's tall players. A smattering of smaller ones. We have the reverse, at present.

Perhaps just Mee and Tarkowski. That would sort it.

I thought both goals were well taken last night.
