I’m getting sick to death now of this stubborn project. He refuses to change and it has ended up with us relegated.

Imagine passing the ball about slowly at the back and to the keeper as though you’re at 0-0….when you’re 2-0 down and there’s 10 minutes left.

The kids on the pitch have no personality. There’s nobody in that squad able to tell Kompany to ***k off, we’re going to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and have a go,

He’s got yes men. He daren’t sign older experienced players because he’s scared of them. He’s scared they’ll have an opinion.

Ha, quite like this analogy.

He's replaced or lost his key crew members too.

His words are beginning to sound hollow. It’s alright being calm but he acts as if there is no pressure at all in the job but there should be.

That was strange at 2-0 down. Benson looked much better than JBL when he came on. I think we might’ve nicked one if he’d played more of the second.

A board that can't afford to sack him has no other choice than let this go on especially when the support are ok with the idea of getting relegated & go again at promotion next season.

I know i'm hard on Trafford & he may get better, but his kicking is awful & set-pieces are a disaster at the moment.

wtf?

This madness aside, I am not sure what else you want him to say in an interview? He believes in himself and his project, so he is hardly going to shoot himself in the foot. I know it's getting tedious, but I think all this is going to be good for him and us in the long run, after so much success last season he will learn an incredible amount from all this and he is a very astute man. The problem is now the squad he has, which I believe he has realised isn;t ready for this step up.

Just wait until it clicks. When it does it won't be because VK has changed much, it will be because the players will have improved and performed better.
If it doesn't click soon enough and we are relegated, we start again, just like any relegated team/club. Leicester, Leeds and Southampton seem to all be having good campaigns this season. Their supporters are watching them win games. Every season the 3 weakest teams are relegated. Life goes on. We get to fight/play another day. Maybe Burnley will be a yo-yo club until they become an established premier league club. Can a club the size of Burnley ever become an established premier league club?

Is it not obvious that the plan is to take good players, make them noticed in the PL, then sell on at a profit? The board probably backed Kompany as long as he agreed to play these players. So the board are not going to sack him. Also who would they want as manager if we go down?

Let’s be honest VK is just a bad manager at this level.

He’s just miles out of his depth. He should have been sacked weeks ago but it looks like Pace wants to sink the ship with its captain.

Oh well hopefully he can get us up next year. Another year of crappy championship

Sounds just like what VK said after the opening game against City
We are now playing sides inferior to City and our performances have arguably gone backwards

This way (Yes, VK's) of doing it has a much higher ceiling than the approach we had with Dyche.

The difference is it takes TIME. Dyche had to get results there and then, which he generally did - VK is building something.

We have the best young manager around, some amazing young talent and a model which will serve us extremely well in the future.

Go and choose a team that's going to chase immediate results and moan about whatever you can there will you?

We should ALL be fully behind VK and this project and that includes having patience!

The bigger picture is the fact (IMO) that we have people who have the POTENTIAL of playing, managing, and coaching at the very top of the game

We are simply in a period of time where more or less all of these people aren't quite there yet. Which SHOULD be fine if people see the bigger picture, which is that of the club being a real playing force on the pitch. Not today, but soon.

These people need the fans behind them

"we still managed to create chances"

Not particularly. 0.9 xG at home, compared to 1.5 xg for Everton. They had the better chances and deserved to win.

"the game was decided by the set plays"

And the first set play came after we gave the ball away playing out from the back. Again.

The bigger picture is that he's a young manager who did brilliantly last season with plenty of scope for improvement in an unforgiving league. He exceeded expectations last season considerably, but so far this season he's underachieved, although realistically, it was always going to be tough. He deserves time and support.

Like you say, the Premier League is a unforgiving League and history suggests managers don't always get the time to develop their teams. Here at Burnley we tend to stand by our managers......but who knows with our new owners.

Most sensible people, without the benefit of hindsight, didn't expect us to smash the league in the way we did, especially after such a huge turnover of our squad.

Yes and when they are ready they won't be playing for Burnley Football Club and there lies the problem. Any decent player will be sold in the summer and we'll be on another rebuild for next season, that's the bigger picture.
How many from abroad will jump at the chance to come and play for us in the championship next season knowing upon promotion they'll be sat on the sidelines?
I don't understand how you can believe a team that has lost 13 in 17 league games is suddenly going to become a 'force'

It’s called delusion.

If his name wasn’t Vincent Kompany no would be suggesting the above.

The better argument here is who is better Brian Laws or VK

Re the specific point regarding post match interviews Kompany has had an easy ride so far from the interviewers. He’s asked to give his thoughts but there is no penetrating follow up. His analysis seemed to be that we didn’t defend set pieces and didn’t take our chances. The MOTD graphic showed that Everton are top of the shop at goals from set pieces. So it would be nice to know if we prepared for them and if so why the plans didn’t work.

Another more searching question might be why we have not managed to gain a single point after going a goal down and why we have equalised only once. To me it looks like the players threw in the towel yesterday in the first half with no response to the goals and were also completely tactically outmanoeuvred by Everton.

Couldn't blame them let's be honest Dyche has his team playing better football than us even playing out from the back successfully, we've a coach who it is apparently his style but cannot coach his team to do it
Better players/teams usually beat weaker ones.
Although if you work harder and fight you can sometimes bloody the odd nose. We are neither.

I don't get the argument Everton are a average side, even with 4 key players out, every single one of their starting 11 from yesterday gets in ours.

And it's always a good sign/luxury to have a 50m striker on the bench, not many PL sides have those.

Everton are like most seasons one of the best of the rest, this season is no different

The happy clappers will tell you it's all down to the change in the league in the last 12 months and that there's nothing more VK can do
