9 wins needed from remaining games
We need imo 27 more points 9 wins .Bring in a striker in January with a ball winning cm and we have a chance .We have again showed further improvement tonight but must take our opportunities which are few and far between in the Premier league. I believe we can win on Saturday and will pull clear in 2024 to stay up UTC

Re: 9 wins needed from remaining games
That’s very comforting to know we are going to pull clear in 2024 .:: pull clear of who ? .:,
Im more of a realist and although performances have improved recently we have only beaten 1 established premier league team this season from 18 games and think we will be relegated probably getting under 30 points

we won't get 9 wins, but we will get a boat load next season in the Championship and come back a lot better for it

Assuming we keep our best players. I could see a lot wanting to leave. But where to could be the stumbling block for them.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2023 5:45 amwe won't get 9 wins, but we will get a boat load next season in the Championship and come back a lot better for it

Re: 9 wins needed from remaining games
As I posted on another thread, it's 8 wins needed as no team in PL history has gone down with a season total of 11 wins

Re: 9 wins needed from remaining games
Spot on its double our performances have been better every game and this was always VKs plan
Re: 9 wins needed from remaining games
We don't need 9 wins. 38 points minimum for staying up, even granted that we won't get a draw? Can't see it.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2023 2:02 amWe need imo 27 more points 9 wins .Bring in a striker in January with a ball winning cm and we have a chance .We have again showed further improvement tonight but must take our opportunities which are few and far between in the Premier league. Re: 9 wins needed from remaining games
I don't think we'll do it. This season will prove to be a priceless one in terms of the squad's development.
Re: 9 wins needed from remaining games
The only positive in our current predicament is who we've played at home. 9 defeats from 10 isn't acceptable but we have played most of the bigger, better teams.
Man City, Aston Villa, Spurs, Man Utd, Chelsea, Palace, West Ham, Sheff Utd, Everton and Liverpool.
The Palace and West Ham defeats are the ones that will ultimately see us relegated. Had we picked up the points we deserved from those performances things would be looking a whole lot better.
Luton, Fulham, Arsenal, Bournemouth, Brentford, Wolves, Brighton, Newcastle and Forest to come,
We can scratch the Arsenal game but the rest are winnable - although I expect Newcastle will be fully fit by the time we play them!

Re: 9 wins needed from remaining games
No way this team stays up. We’ve made a balls up of this season and the window before it. Only positive is some younger players get experience but some are clearly not even ready for that ( Ramsey) or good enough.

It’s the hope that kills you! We’re down.

Re: 9 wins needed from remaining games
It’s looking like a low number of points would be needed to retain PL status - around 30-33 I think.
It’s doable but we will need to upset a top half team a few times…
See what happens

Re: 9 wins needed from remaining games
We probably wouldn’t need 9 wins, but it’s a moot point anyway because the bottom three is more than likely already decided. I’m OK with that as long as we continue to give it a go.
I just hope the board don’t panic and get rid of Vincent.

Hate to urinate on your chips CC but if Forest beat United they will be averaging a point a game so 38 points will be the minimum.
The team have stopped shipping goals for fun but our big unresolved weakness is once they concede it’s game over, they’ve equalised once in 10 games. It’s not so much heads go down as there are no gears to go through.

Big if that! Forest are currently on pace for 34 and although had a good result yesterday have been in a bit of a free fall...ClaretLoup wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2023 12:28 pm.

We'll see though - I don't think they'll hit 38 points.
34 would still be a big ask of us but as long as the lads battle and continue to improve at least it gives us something to get behind.

But won't quite a few of the squad be sold off in the summer?evensteadiereddie wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2023 10:23 amI don't think we'll do it. This season will prove to be a priceless one in terms of the squad's development.
