Burnley Font
We will be wearing “club font & numbers” on the shirts for tomorrows cup game
Will we still be in the competition then they are available to purchase?

Ah, not so.
It's been specifically designed for defenders to be able to read it as Lyle Foster bursts past them.

Awesome can they play at left back
Re: Burnley Font
I read an article on shirts the other week (the athletic I think) and it seems that all premier league clubs do this.
Re: Burnley Font
I’d say we are one of the last clubs in the Premier League to do it.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 7:47 pmThis is just the start of it!

I actually think it looks a bit naff when we use Premier League numbers in different competitions.
We also used a different font in the Europa League.

We did use a different font in the Europa League qualifiers despite the club suggesting this is a first.

My word. Fancy doing something that nearly every other Premier League club does.
Just watching Everton take a throw in with their club font/number. Not sure they are owned by “yanks” (yet)?

Is there anything clubs won't do to try and scrape a few extra pennies out of their fan base? When you think how big the TV deals are, stuff like this just comes across as tacky and smacks of desperation to me.

Re: Burnley Font
If we were heading in that direction we’d have sacked Kompany by now. Watford are a basket case and we’re nothing like them at all.
By the way, I won’t report your post as find that kind of stuff a bit silly without just calling it out directly to the poster, but I find the terms “Yank” and “Yankee” offensive and borderline racist. Given we have a number of US-based fans that post on here I for one would prefer you don’t use them.

Watford type with wanting multi club ownership, players as cattle etc.
Fonts for a one off game is one thing but what's this frigging horrid 'B' on a cap? It's horrific.
They already pushed it with the monochrome rubbish this year. What's next?
Sorry for wanting the club to remain with some unique identity, not just plastered with crypto crap and shoddy 'branding'

Would all the above still be bothering you if we were sitting 10th in the premier league? Because to me none of the above actually affects anything that happens with 100 minutes of football the team playsCoolClaret wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 8:27 pmYank borderline racist - what race? Give over

What does the changing of the badge on social media, when it’s still fhe original badge on the home shirt actually do to affect what happens each game? Absolutely nothing. Identity and branding means something - especially to a football club that's been in the heart of the community for 140+ years and certainly wasn't created by businessmen.
Wait till it starts to creep up more and more - this is just a start, what's next?
What will the next one be 'It's fine we were due a badge change anyway' and we're left with some monstrosity like that monochrome crap or even worse that 'B' on that cap.
Tred bloody carefully
Re: Burnley Font
I spoke to someone who said he had been at a presentation meeting, back end of last year.
Apparently, we are changing the club badge and it's going to be the design that JJ Watts cap has on it.
How true this is, I haven't a scooby.

We have had different variations of the bad on shirts in the past under old and new ownership, the 3rd shirt in 21/22 which was one of the nicer shirts over the last few years and wouldn’t of looked as nice with the original, it still has no baring on the on pitch performance. Sorry that having an opinion that isn't "ALK are wonderful" and actually caring about Burnley Football Club in it's entirety upsets you.
If I think something isn't right then I'll express my displeasure - if I go too far then I expect the mods to issue me with a ban. I think I'm perfectly entitled to be a bit cheesed off with naff American NBA styled 'branding', am I not?
